So how long did you stay or does it take? I plan on attending both this event & the Jaguar event next weekend in Nor Cal.
I stayed for 1.5 hours cause I had nothing to do. You can do the whole thing in 30 minutes.

In LA. Closed course is about 1/8th if a mile. You can drive around downtown LA too, my guide was pretty care free so I drove for about 6 miles. Nothing finger foods. They have a social media raffle at the event with $50 gift cards.

Overall probably a 6.5/10 event, nothing special.
basically, only good to grab some free waters while driving a 30K Civic?

Sodas, some hors d'oeuvres and yes a 34k Civic Si. The actual car is really expensive. For a 2.4 it starts at 32-33k.

They're in a parking lot across from the convention center, like Fig and 11th/9th. Free parking in the event.

Went to the ILX event at Staples. There was pretty much nothing to do there, and all the driving can be done in about 15 minutes. The cupcakes were good though. The driving "experience" was very short, went around ~6 blocks or so with no freeway segments. I'm not sure what they are pricing this car against because it's up in the range of base model Audi and BMWs (I think the 5AT starts at 29k, 6MT premium around 32?, hybrid at 34). The civic is already a pretty expensive compact (but honda has a good hold in that segment), but to throw this car into the lineup with no real distinguishing characteristics other than slightly above average gas mileage seems like a dangerous plan. I like some Acuras but their executive leadership is very questionable.

I went to the ILX event today, I guess it's better than staying home and playing Diablo. The parking lot was pretty hard to find, got it eventually after circling a few times. I drove the 2.4 manual ILX and hybrid while my gf tried the 2.0 ILX. I have to say, other than the leather seats, there's nothing I liked about the car. Yes, it has more a little more power than a dinky Civic, but it makes no sense to drop 30k on an entry level compact luxury car. Would take an IS250 over this any day, at least it's V6 and RWD.

The staff were very nice though, so that's good. And food https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hp...6389_n.jpg

No gifts. In a nut shell, if you decided to stay home and play Diablo today, you didn't miss out too much. Wink

Minicross on the other hand, was pretty awesome. Big Grin

Can you tell me how the minicross event went.

I didnt want to drive 4+ hours to drive a mini just autocross. If it was the track i think I would have gone.

Ah, compared to the ILX event it was good. But you didn't miss much. It was just a glorified test drive, definitely not worth the 4+ hour drive. Closed course with cones, you just wait in line, then hop onto a Cooper and go at it. Didn't even give out free water LMAO

Visit http://www.jaguarusa.com/drive-ex.../overview/ and click the "Stay Informed" link.

I did the same several months ago and got a code late last week, but SF was booked with wait list (except for the last Thursday slot.)
