I was at the CTS-V lab on Sat, 7:30am start. It was a blast, got to drive the CTS-V Coupe and Wagon, also the new 2013 ATS V6. I enjoyed the Wagon the most, more head room than the coupe and for what ever reason it felt much faster on the track, touched 120 on the back straight (Full course) where as in the coupe I only just broke 100. However on my last flying lap in the wagon at the end of the back straight the brake pedal went to the floor, the car still stopped just not sure we could have done another lap a full tilt. Maybe it was just an ABS thing??

I too drove the coupe first and the instructor with me was calling me out for missing the apex by inches. He wanted to "feel" the inside curb at the apex. Apart from that he was a good guy. The instructor that was with me in the wagon was "Impressed" how late and hard I hit the brakes. Funny thing was I could see his right foot going for the brake pedal every so often, gave me a good laugh. Fun day, even the lectures weren't to bad.

I was at the Lexus Performance event this Saturday at Giants Stadium..oh wow they had a great setup. Checked in, we sat and had lunch for about 30-45 mins no rush. Went into a room where they showed us whats new about the GS and the ES. Then sent us off to the race track (made up of cones) not a real track. They had 3 in total. They compared the ES with the mercedes C300 and the BMW 325 on 1 track. They were all ok, The GS track was with the E350 and the 525 both all wheel drive vs the gs fsport. Wow the 525 was the worst in handling and the e350 was the best i thought. GS was right in the middle. I loved the luxury inside the E350, the little things like the seat belt togging you when you latch in to the shifters on the steering wheel.

Last track was the time trial on the gs f sport. fastest person around the laptop gets to sit in the LFA with a professional driver. Wow that guy was going really fast, but he did hit many cones Smilie.

all in all it was a great day. They even had snacks and drinks at the tents by the race track.

Was there for 2-2.5 hours. best event i been to yet Smilie

Ya, those Lexus events are always fun & well planned. Not necessarily the best tracks but definitely a good time with good food. I really missed those yearly events they held before the recession. I hope they start bringing them back to more locations.

I was there also thanks to beowulf7's tip. I was in the first session at 7:45am. What time did you go?

I actually find the BMW 525 and GS F Sport much better than the E350. The Merc is just way too soft (suspension) and heavy (in weight). I didn't spend too much time at the course with the ES. All the cars there were way too softly sprung fitted with non performance tires.

The timed autocross was fun but wish it were a little bit longer. The track was too cold in the morning to get the best time.

I agree that overall it was a great event. The GS F Sport is quite impressive considering it is foremost a luxury sedan.

Agreed, it was soft and heavy but i just love that luxury feeling in the merc. I went to the one at 12. The F sport was nice...given it is only 4-5k more than the standard GS (not confirmed, this is what the lexus guy at the track told me)

FYI i just received a postcard for $75 visa card if i test drive the RX at my local dealer so not a bad deal! free food, free racing, free money Stick Out Tongue

Just did the Jaguar event yesterday. Very nice! It ranks up there with the better events I've gone to. Lots of stuff in the SWAG bag as mentioned before this thread. I loved the XKR-S! It definitely has changed my perspective of the brand, but for $130k, I'd rather get my butt into a Porsche GT3 RS. drool
