Folks, I am in the market for a new plasma. Wondering which one to go for, the TCP50X1 or the Samsung 50 inch plasma with FREE Home theater system. Both are tempting deals....however unable to make up my mind Smilie

Panasonic 50 inch plasma(TCP50X1): http://accessories.us.dell.com/sn...u=A2612466

Samsung 50 inch plasma(PN50BHTZ320):http://accessories.us.dell.com/sn...u=A3256426

Your insight will be highly appreciated as I am a little confused on which one to go for.

Thanks!!

ordered through Dell.
Dell cashes the checks and deposits the CC money.
Dell is responsible...period.

The call center is closed, but here's how you can get your tracking number if your order has shipped from Pilot (likely so if it shipped 12/3):

-Go to your order status page from your email confirmation.
-Click 'Invoices' and log in.
-Copy your 'Waybill number' and paste under 'Quick Track' at http://www.pilotair.com/ and search. You can also call them at 866-421-0982.

Mine is shipping from CA and will probably be in Phoenix next week.

FWIW, I think alot of people here started to panic, which spread from there and made everyone nervous. granted some CSR's said it will be canceled, but depending on who you speak with (i.e. sales rep) your going to get a variety of answers. Patience was key , as lets be honest, this is a really good price here. It was cheap enough that many people figured it was a price mistake. Everyone will eventually get their orders.
Now, mine was shipped on 11/23. I received no notice of this, my card wasn't charged, and there was no tracking number. HOWEVER, once I dug around the order screens a while I found the tracking number. I think since mine was sent FEDEX, and I ended up with 2 separate tracking numbers, the Dell front page just want able to update with a single number.
Now, my TV was non functional when I received it. I have since had this one repaired (free) and actually received a 2nd replacement TV from Dell. Let me say if you are on the fence, stick with Samsung. They are the only company that repairs your TV at your home. The techs are mandated to repair the TV same day, so when he showed up he had 1 of every part for the TV, sans the screen. The tech was here 3 days after I notified Samsung. That is incredible service. Any other TV and I would have to mail it out and wait.
good to know about samsung... but i do not get what you said. You had your tv repaired... but also got dell to send a replacement. So how many tvs do you have?

Thanks for the info... Unfortunately, I keep getting a "Server Error", but I'll keep trying. Dell managed to get my info from somewhere. Pilot doesn't have it. Hopefully, I just copied down the wrong tracking number...

Received a call from Dell regarding my complaint to the BBB and I was informed by Swetha that my order has been shipped. I checked my status on the Dell site and it has been updated. Looks like complaining to the BBB does work.

Mine was the same thing. Call 800-447-4568 (1-800-HI-PILOT), and they will ask for your tracking number and shipping address. They will then tell you when the item will be in their distribution center to set up a shipping date/time.

Edit: Pilot shows that it exists now with delivery sometime between 12/11-12/18.
Exact same for me too. Looks like things are happening people. I think we're almost all good now, and I sincerely wish us all good luck with a safe delivery.

No wonder mine has not shipped yet, this guys got 2.laugh out loud

Good to hear about SAMSUNG and thank god we do not have to go through Dell to have tv serviced.(not that I plan on needing it serviced)

I could only imagine the process that would be.

Well the second TV came through PILOT, so when they called I just had them return it to Dell.
On the replacement order #, the TV SKU was for the TV alone, with a price around ~1300. I think its obvious the items are in stock individually, its the bundle (on a SKU level) that's in short supply.
In order to process a return I had to contact Samsung 1st, otherwise I may have been hit with a 15% restocking fee. It just so happened Samsung got here faster than Dell works, so I didn't need the 2nd TV.

Order was shipped yesterday, and 5 minutes ago i got the FTC phone call from dell warning me that they would cancel my order (which has supposedly shipped) if i did not consent to the delay. Ha, what a ridiculous company. totally just an automated call!

Looks like they recycle the tracking numbers. Mine was delivered to G. Love on 6/16/2009 at 9:20 Local time. LOL, wonder what G stands for?
