Steve Jobs called a pretty much out of the blue press conference for tomorrow... they just gave notification yesterday (the 14th).

When my roommate got his a week ago, I tried for 45 minutes to replicate the dropped signal issue and wasn't able to to do.

I'm betting this isn't as widespread as people are making it out to be.

Apparently, it affects less than 1% of the iPhones but Apple is being pressured by Consumer Reports.

So, I wonder what they will be doing about the reception thing.

I can guarantee no one around here has experienced that problem.... There's not a good enough signal from AT&T here to notice if the drop off is from pressing on the antenna or just AT&T.

Interesting. Since that article specifically mentions AT&T, I wonder how many worldwide outside the US experienced this issue.

Proximity sensor problem?

Fixed via next update.. (sheesh..talk about one problem after another..)

Gotta love how CR, no matter how much I hate them, pointed out it wasn't a software issue and Apple is still going on like a software update will fix this.

Can't wait for the software update to not work.
