Thread Details

July 21, 2010, 3:13 am: System Notice: This thread content has been automatically archived from another thread which reached post limit, and will be preserved for reference and archival purposes. The discussion should continue in the original thread

Please no OT.

This will not cover the weekly deals. See the individual threads for each week.

Different types of clearance:

1. The kind with official CVS tags on the shelves. These are usually found in many stores.
2. The kind on an endcap or special table and often have green stickers on them. These are usually specific to that store. Sometimes the discontinued items will show up at other stores with these stickers, too.

Post your finds, with as much info as possible including where you found them (on the shelf or in another place in the store). If you know of any coupons to use on the clearance items, post those too.

I don't think I saw this posted, but I found a terrific Conair cellophane bag of hair items on clearance. The regular price was $2.99 but on clearance, was 75cents each. The 'value' was listed as $19.99 of hair items--there were several different barrettes, hair ties, metal ponytail ornament--all pretty and fancy.

Haven't had a beep yet. But I was using them with Band Aid coupons, which I'm out of now.

What kitty litter is 69c? I must have missed it.
The Kitty litter in my store is Petcentral 14 lbs. scoopable for .69 . I bought 9 yesterday and wish I could find more. They are big white plastic containers and were not marked as clearance. HTH

i found the hello kitty and sponge bob/neosporin value packs in the clear plastic holders on 2 endcaps in the center aisle around the analgesics, medication section. then i found a bunch more on the shelf where the 1oz neosporin is shelved in first aid. i went to check the price of the .5oz neosporin = 5.99. the 20pk hello kitty and sponge bob bandaids are 3.59.

i found 2 wet ones on one of those swinging metal hooks in i think the cleaning product or paper goods section. it rang up .49, but i got them anyway. i remember seeing the plastic strips full of them on a cosmetic endcap on monday at another store but i didn't know those were the ones. i thought they were the individually wrapped ones in the box that had been on sale at my supermarket which are more expensive than these travel packs. crossing my fingers that they are still there tomorrow and ring up .19!
Thank you. I found the HK & SB hanging in plastic holder near pharmacy. First store rang up at 69, second store only 50% $3.49. Also found Wet Once in summer isle in plastic strip, scanned at 19. As someone mentioned the J&J $1 coupon scanned beepless with HK/SB. Also used $1 off wet once ip, got 6.

Edit: The J&J $1 coupon found at some CVS, most RA & WG. It is a folder near J&J products with $5 & $1 coupon.

Interesting story - had just left a CVS where I found 4 of the first aid kits w/ Neosporin, .69 as reported here. Found the Wet Ones hanging on a hanger on the seasonal aisle which they were dismantling.

I Was feeling pretty good and knew I was going to pass one more CVS on my way home with DD, asked her if we could make one more stop, she said sure. As we were getting out of the car a poor woman on a bike came up asking if I could help her with a few dollars. Normally I don't like this kind of thing but I did feel sorry for her. I said I didn't have any change at the moment but I might on my way out.

Inside I looked for the first aid kits and wet ones, none to be found. Went down the clearance aisle (this CVS has one, most that I visit do not). I was looking at the pitiful summer clearance remains and was thinking I would just go buy a candy bar or something to make some change. I guess I was talking out loud because I must have said something to the effect that there's nothing there that I need to get. My daughter in the cart was looking at the other side of the aisle and said "I see something you need to get daddy, cat litter!". I said "No baby" and then I remembered it being on clearance (from this thread!). Then I said "Where do you see cat litter baby?". "Right there" she pointed.

Sure enough on a shelf at her eye level were 5 containers of the cat litter. Scanned it really quick and it was .69. Normally don't clear a shelf but this time I took all 5!

Paid with cash and gave the lady outside a $5 (I had just saved $30 on cat litter, the least I could do).

(Sorry for the long story but I just thought it was interesting the way it happened)

I can't speak for the OP, but mine came from a sort of large blinkie holder found at Wags and Rite-Aid awhile back. Each pull-out had a $5 J&J UltraHeal MFQ and a $1 J&J First Aid MFQ.

Just a reminder that in order for the $1 Qs to be beepless at CVS, you need to have *more* total J&J products than you do Qs. For example, let's say you find 5 boxes of the band-aids at $0.69 each.

5 x $0.69 = $4.80

That means you can use 4 $1 J&J Qs w/o beeps. If you use a 5th, it will say "exceeds maximum Q value" or something to that effect. At my friendlier stores, I will go ahead and use a 5th Q, as the screen should prompt the cashier to adjust the value of the Q down to the remaining $0.80.

HTH!

Math check...

5 x $0.69 = $3.45

That means you can use 3 $1 J&J Qs w/o beeps. If you use a 4th, it will say "exceeds maximum Q value" or something to that effect. At my friendlier stores, I will go ahead and use a 4th Q, as the screen should prompt the cashier to adjust the value of the Q down to the remaining $0.45.

The J&J Q that I've used on the Value Packs that have the first aid kit & neosporin is linked on the SD Printable Q thread:

not at cvs. kohls had all the way up to 80% off and the racks were full. i think the 80% off ones were jonas bros, hannah montana and the clear plastic ones. i remember the jansports were on clearance too but don't remember how much. i'm going to keep an eye on the jansport totes, even though i shouldn't.
