Thread Details

July 21, 2010, 3:13 am: System Notice: This thread content has been automatically archived from another thread which reached post limit, and will be preserved for reference and archival purposes. The discussion should continue in the original thread

Please no OT.

This will not cover the weekly deals. See the individual threads for each week.

Different types of clearance:

1. The kind with official CVS tags on the shelves. These are usually found in many stores.
2. The kind on an endcap or special table and often have green stickers on them. These are usually specific to that store. Sometimes the discontinued items will show up at other stores with these stickers, too.

Post your finds, with as much info as possible including where you found them (on the shelf or in another place in the store). If you know of any coupons to use on the clearance items, post those too.

Found bags of CVS Gold Emblem Atomic Fire Balls (Blue Bag) on clearance for $0.38

Bought 3 and used CRT for $1 off any 3 bags of Gold Emblem Candy items.

Coupon beeped but cashier entered it manually.

3 bags for $0.14.

Also saw bags of Sour Gummy Watermelon Slices in clearance cart, but didn't check price.
The sour worms were .39 at our store and the caramels were .19. Used them to get up to $20 fo use a $4/$20.
Picked up a blow dryer for $3.74.

The same thing happened with the POS telescope that fell apart. I returned it, and it was put back on the shelf!

Same with the cheapo table from Wags. I was carrying it by its handle when the handle let go, and the table crashed to the floor (just missing my foot). I returned the table, and the next day, it was right back of the sales floor. The exact same one with the broken handle. I returned a blouse once to Macy's because it had a tear in it. Didn't they put that thing right back on the rack! What is it with these stores? Guess they're trying to sell to someone who doesn't care.
SO true! I was trying to help out my fav CVS store, which is usually very good about pulling expired stuff off the shelves. Anyway, I found 2 bags of Stacy's bagel chips that were expired, so I took them up to the front and told the cashier that they were expired. She thanked me profusely. Well, wouldn't you know, the next time I went in, they were back on the shelf, so again I took them up, this time gave them to the asst. mgr. and told him I had turned them in previously. He also thanked me profusely. But, of course, they were back on the shelf the next time I went in. The same 2 expired bags! I just gave up and left them there. I love this store, but geesh, aside from buying or shoplifting them, there didn't seem to be any way to get them off the shelf for good! laugh out loud

I found .99 cent dog snuggies,.99 cent izod .25 oz with 3 gulf balls perfumes, 2.00 rocawear perfumes. .35 cent dentyne gum, 5.00 portable laptop table and a lot of other stuff 90 percent off. The SM price modified a 25.00 dollar Izod gift set 1 fl oz with free hat that I have not seen on clearance at stores around here to 1. I actually got her to give me a lot of stuff at 90% because it was taking up A LOT of room in her store. One whole aisle of clearance stuff. Needless to say, I hit the jackpot.

You should have purchased them with ECBs and returned then for a GC or cash. In California, they would have had to pay you an extra $2 for each expired item!

At my store they were in the clearance section. They rang up full price but she told me they were supposed to be 50%. I told her how they were 90% earlier in the year and told me to take everything I wanted and she would put it in her office and I came back the next day and they had marked down all their clearance to 90%. This store is kinda in the middle of nowhere so they rarely ever sell clearance at 50%.
