Three Xbox 360 Questions...

You can't transfer mp3s to the 360 at all.

e: barring special hookups that link your 360 drive to computer and a special app for accessing its file system, maybe; but certainly nothing you can do with just xbox + pc

You can stream MP3s, but not copy them. I think you need a hub though.

put an audio cd in the xbox and rip them or just use an external storage device

you can put an audio CD into your disc drive and rip it to the drive. this, however, is painfully slow and requires you to have all of your albums/tracks/etc. burned as a standard music CD or on the original CD that you purchased.

it's far easier to do what has been mentioned and simply put your collection on a simple USB external hard drive. you can easily get a small laptop sized hard drive for around $50 that will hold your music and plug into your xbox via USB.

if you're not going to stream on your home network then getting an external hard drive is the easiest and most cost (and time) effective way to get your music to play through your 360.

I've never been able to get an external drive (one that is powered via an outlet) to become recognized on my Xbox 360...
