oh sure, and I was looking at those too...however this was for a specific use; even 60 or 80GB would be just fine....and I was only planning on spending around 30 bucks anyway

...I've been watching on ebay and you pretty much can't buy them for less than that (shipped)....can't wait to see the BF ads for this year :wink:

It also serves as an excellent backup for your music library.

yeah, as I said you can't get them cheaper than $30 on ebay...and that's even for ones with less capacity

With storage as cheap as it is I'd just pick up an ultra cheap bare drive and a cheap enclosure instead. You'd end up with certainly more total storage and a better $/storage ratio that way.

Lots of choices out there.

Meritline [meritline.com] and Shop4Tech [shop4tech.com] are decent places for ultra cheap 2.5" enclosures.

There was even a free after rebate enclosure recently at Mwave.

Spending $30 for 120GB doesn't seem cost effective to me.

But just from a quick glance at that link I posted earlier and without really shopping around at all, $43.99 for 320GB [newegg.com] sounds a lot more enticing and is a much better $/storage ratio.
