As you can see, the PA Department of Revenue has no problem using fear. This ad pisses me off and is a great indicator that we've allowed Government at all levels to grow far too influential and powerful.

very true.. and I live in Pa so I know about this pretty well. Apparently it's easier to merely broadcast this over radio, television etc.. rather than deal w/ people one on one. So they're using an intimidation factor to scare people into calling them and negotiating rather than shaking them down. I fully agree w/ the idea of making people pay etc.. but the scare tactics being used are somewhat under the belt.

If residents put together a video stating how unfair the state is w/ their budget and claim they must fix it settle up, be responsible etc.. b/c if they don't.. we know where you work, live etc.. The state would probably go absolutely berserk and describe that as a threat to state officials. ahh.. the hypocrisy..

Well, right. Those without debt don't have anything to fear from debt collectors.

Those in debt do.

The difference is that the IRS has much more power than private sector debt issuers.

Citizens aren't allowed to make such a video...yep hypocrisy.

The ad comes off as a threat of violence, terrorist style to me. I didn't believe it was real until I saw it on the state site.

i reacted to the video that same way when i see this sign:

wow, just wow. Unbelievable, completely distasteful and disgusting. Someone should be fired for this.

I agree, its more than just bad taste. I don't think this is only just in PA, maybe govt everywhere has become the same.

It has, and is a major reason why we have to vote for lowering taxes at every turn, and not fall for the BS which claims that "we cannot afford tax cuts" and "we have too large a deficit/debt". It's all BS; as more money gets extracted from us, Government gets larger and more powerful, and all the bad things which motivated us to buckle for higher taxes still remains.

Cut them off, and shrink the tumor which is Government.

Taxes make us all slaves and you can see from this ad campaign that if we don't obey, apparently we will be taught a lesson.
