Is the user profile wildcard different in Win7?

I'm trying to create a default profile in my base Windows 7 image. I want to have a default Citrix connection on the desktop. The Citrix connection is automatically there on the desktop when I create a new user account. But, I get "Wfcrun32 ERROR: Failed to set even logging" when it's used. This is because the entry in the APPSRV.ini file pointing to the log file is incorrect. I want to make it so it uses the current user path. For example,

C:\Users\%userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\ICAClient\wfcwin32.log

This always worked in XP. Did this change in Win7?

Looks like on my Win7 box the initial path is included in the variable.

%USERPROFILE% = C:\users\<username>

You can type "set" at the DOS prompt to see a list of variables in use.
