eee 1001p screen replacement any idea?
My wife broke the screen of this small machine after 2 months of usage. Do you know where I can find the cheaper screen replacement? I have found the below links: a. $52 + $14.99 shipping http://cgi.ebay.com/ASUS-EEE-PC-1...415066ff65 b. $38.25+ $9.99 shipping http://www.papatek.com/Panel-10.1...anel.html# c. $80+ $9.99 shipping http://www.screenaid.com/index.ph...=eee+1001p It seems that papatek is the cheapest option, but is this website legit? I never heard papatek before, makes me nervous if this is scam. Do you have any suggestion to get the replacement part other than Asus genuine part? |

Differences in prices are resolution, inverter included, warranty and panel grade. Some manufacturing specs allow for zero pixel defect rate, 2-5 dead pixels, etc.
The cheap option is 576 lines of vertical resolution and 40 pin connector vs 600 lines and 30 pin connector. You should disassemble the display, pull the panel out and visually ID the numbers. Then you can cross reference the different manufactures for the exact replacement part. |
