College is pretty worthless in my opinion. Spent more on a degree then I'm making in a year.
Hello All,
Just a few thoughts I have been having lately. I went to college and graduated with two degrees and have found them about useless when job searching. I have been out of college now for a little over 3 years. I graduated with a BS in Business and a BA in acting. The acting was more of something I really love to do then a carreer choice.
Right after I graduated I wasnt able to find a full time job untill I found one through an employment agency working as an office assistant doing menial tasks. I worked there for about a year and a half and then got laid off. Right after that i was in panic mode and decided i wanted to work at a bank and see how that went.
I found a job working in a bank call center which once again does not utilize my degree. My base is about 28k a year, but with bonuses and overtime i can make about 40k a year at my current performance.
I have been working here now for a little over a year and can now move into a different department in the bank, most likely probably earning less then i am now.
I guess my question is this. My degree so far has been about useless and I owe about 30k in loans. What is a good route to make myself more marketable in the business market? Should I continue to work where I am now and move within the company? Should I start looking else where? I am not even sure what to look for because in the past most places want the experiance, not someone they have to train.
This has just been a very frustrating process and I feel like I wasted alot of money not learning much and getting jobs I could have without a degree in business.

Do you know if there are part time internships? I will have to look into it.
