How to deal with a dog problem Is there any law against this I've spoken to the idiot and he always apologizes and says puppies r wild and he is trying to tame them, he also won't use a leash he says there his kids and he won't restrain them If there isnt any legal way to do this I'm gonna have to spray some Chemicals on the garbage so the dog goes away but I'd prefer the legal option more Last edited by utl768; 09-23-2010 at 01:32 PM.. |

Take a cue from cat lady and use the recycling bin.

Knock on his door and politely tell him that he needs to come clean up the mess in your yard every single time you find anything.
Try it for a start and go from there if it doesn't work. Tobasco on the trash will often work to keep the dogs out and it won't hurt them. Nearly all towns have leash laws. I live in a tiny little town with very few laws, rules, or regulations but we have a leash law. Last edited by gt6mk31; 09-23-2010 at 03:38 PM.. |

if you notice them on your lawn, turn on your sprinkler. it's harmless and it'll get them off.

By chemicals I hope you mean pepper spray for the trash or doggie be gone spray such as this. Otherwise you'll find yourself in trouble with the law. Like the others have said, check on the leash laws for your city. Most cities require pets be in a fenced area or on a leash.

If he won't restrain his dogs..and if he refuses to come clean up their mess on a daily basis I think I would move it from my lawn to his doorstep.

Yes, as others mentioned check the leash law in your city. If you wanted to make a little more trouble for him you could call animal control who would probably check to see if the dogs were licensed and up to date on shots ect. if not they might fine him and would most likely tell him that they were not to run loose. If it is a law, it is not up to him to decide whether or not he wants to restrain them.
Good Luck!
One hand reaches out and saves a lost soul from harm. While a thousand more go unspoken for and they say what good have you done by saving just this one? It's like whispering a prayer in the fury of a storm. And I hear them saying you'll never change things and no matter what you do it's still the same thing. But it's not the world that I am changing, I do this so this world will know that it will not change me. - Garth Brooks song lyrics
