Lowe's Class Action Settlement - From $50 to $4,500 (GC's and Cash) for those that purchased Drywall prior to 7/27/10
I went to Lowe's today and found out about a Class Action suit regarding drywall from Lowe's. Please DO NOT ABUSE THIS. Only make a claim if you indeed purchased the defective drywall from Lowe's.
Highlights:
- Drywall purchased or installed from Lowe's in your home prior to 7/27/10 is eligble
- $50 in Lowe's GC available for no proof of purchase or damages
- $250 in Lowe's GC available if you have proof of purchase prior to 7/27/10
- $2000 in Lowe's GC PLUS $2,500 in cash if you can independently verify the drywall came from Lowe's and caused damages to you or your home
- Claims must be filed by 5/18/11 if the settlement is approved on 11/9/10
At the bottom of my Lowe's receipt today there was a message that said:

Quote : NOTICE: Drywall Settlement. Read Below.Lowe's has settled a lawsuit alleging that certain drywall purchased from Lowe's was defective and caused property damage and/or personal injury. Lowe's denies all of these claims. You are included in the Class if you have or had allegedly defective drywall that was purchased from Lowe's anytime before 7/27/10. Class members may receive from $50 to $4,500 in Lowe's gift cards and cash. To get payment, you must submit a claim form by 5/18/11. Unless you exclude yourself from the Class by 11/9/10, you give up the right to ever sue Lowe's about the legal claims this settlement resolves. If you stay in the Class, you may object to the settlement by 11/9/10. The court will hold a hearing on 11/19/10, to consider whether to approve the settlement and attorney's fees of up to $2.166 million. You may ask to appear and speak at the hearing. For more information about the settlement, including how to get benefits, exclude yourself or object, go to www.DrywallSettlement.info or call 1-877-497-3512. |
