This is the CVS Coupon Discussion thread for questions, scenarios & chat for all coupons (including Manufacturers) that can be used at CVS.

This is the only thread due to the fact another thread that had CVS coupons only turned into a begging thread and was full of abuse.

not quite a coupon thing, but not a weekly deal either, so this is the best place i can find for this warning:

was at a store today and this family was looking for their card, couldn't fish it out with crying infant. tried giving phone number but it wouldn't pull up with first number. as daughter was giving another number, mother made her stop and turned to me, looked at card in my hand and said can we just scan your card, we're just getting this one item (it some seasonal thing - a fan or something like that in a blue box, with no ecbs, just discounted price) and just want the discounted price.

so in foolish niceness i said ok. scanned they paid, all done. well, as i'm ringing out at register, mother comes up to me rcpt in hand, she starts reading my savings aloud to me and scrutinizing the ecb deals list. EEK!
i was totally thrown off, realizing they now had so much of my info. i told her the savings info was wrong (it is wrong, that tally of how much you allegedly saved) and to just ignore it and asked for the bottom of the rcpt, but she said no on tearing up her rcpt and left with her merchandise. awkward.

so word to the wise, it's nice to be nice, but foolish to be foolishly nice. don't allow your card to be scanned for someone else, because unfortunately, the way the cvs system is set up, it prints out way too much of your info on a rcpt. instead just suggest they pick up a new card in the store and use that.

and now of course i'm all worried that they could try to pull up my account etc. Facepalm shake head
Huh. At the stores here, if the customer doesn't have a card to use (or doesn't want one), the cashiers just scan from the stack of new cards that they have by the register. They just pick one up off the top of the stack and scan it.

Tried using the Benefiber coupons from the Benefiber site today, the clerk said, "we have been advised by corporate that we can no longer accept coupons printed out on the computer"

I don't understand. There is no personal info on the receipt and the receipt only shows the last 4 digits of your card number. Who cares if she knows that you have purchased various items from the week/month ECB deals? And who cares if she knows your YTD savings? She has no personal info on you and no way to get it because all she has is the last 4 digits of your card number. Am I missing something? Is there more personal info and/or a way to get at personal info using info on the receipt? If so, I don't see it.

Of course, I know it just feels weird and I probably would be leary of someone using my card but I don't think you have anything to worry about regarding identity theft, etc.

You should have said: "Ya lady, I'm a pro shopper." Cool

BTW: Your CVS number is blocked out, except for the last 4 digits. There's no way for her to trace it back to you.

If anyone is using their free suave shampoo or conditioner coupon this week for the deal, no matter what the cashier puts in as the price, it takes the full $3 off.

Sounds like a load of crap! How da heck would they know if they were printed from cvs.com or from another site? A lot of the MQ's on cvs's site are the same as those from coupons.com.

Confirmed in Ft. Lauderdale, at least at my usual CVS. "We have been instructed by corporate to no longer accept internet printed coupons. The wesites are fake where the coupons are coming from. " I tried to explain to him that the Benefiber site where I got the 2 Benefiber coupons was not a fake site, it was a real company site but he kept saying it was fake. Weird.

This is probably just the usual BS that goes around every couple of years. They have IP's on their site. If they have the verify dot matrix, then they can prove they are real.
