After a long wait, Apple has finally approved the Checkpoints app! My initial thoughts are that there is a greater opportunity to earn points with scanning products but because there is no Walk-ins like Shopkick, Checkpoints relies on greater GPS accuracy. It is too soon to tell what features they have in place for earning or keeping their users honest but I'm sure that we will work that out soon.

Using a referral code upon signup will award both users with bonus points.

Note: CheckPoints has issued a warning that they will permanently lock out any user found to be scanning fake barcodes.

Here's a website for scans:
http://simpleparticle.com/checkpoints

Has anybody else been banned? I've been banned and I'm 100% sure I did nothing against the TOS, unless their TOS states you can't go around a store scanning items.

---

I have been scanning for about 1.5 to 2mos.
Minutes after redeeming my points, I received this email:

Subject: Your CheckPoints account has been found in violation of our terms of use.

Your CheckPoints account has been found in violation of our terms of
use (http://www.checkpoints.com/TermsOfUse.html).

Actions in violation include illegitimate check-ins and scans, as well
as misrepresenting the program and spamming referral codes in app
stores.

Your account and phone have been permanently suspended from our
service. All points and rewards are forfeit due to these violations.

Hmm, getting the same thing now in the app store on iPhone. Could be they are waiting to release it later and I just happened to get it right when they approved it.

I'm not seeing it in the App Store now. I'm guessing it was pulled for a quick revision or something like that. Hopefully it's back out today...

Seeems CP is picky on how fast you check into different locations & how close you are to them.

When the app gets back into the store, do your thing guys and girls! I'll be back.

Its back in the app store. Oh and imafreeloader you should disclose that the code in your OP is your referral code. I think it's fine to post it but you should let people know you're "profiting" from it too Smilie

Using the code is mutually beneficial but I did edit the main post. Thanks!

I just signed up and used your code, freeloader.

This seems like a shockingly easy app to gain points with. I already have 472 and I haven't even finished scanning everything. I won 30 points just by playing the little slot machine game and matching up 3 buckets of lard... sweet.

Oh, and if anyone cares, my referral code is: lasersaur
