I found this organization a while back. One should note that joining such an organization is not without backlash from "the machine". The louder your voice the more likely you'll be made an example, though such examples aren't always well played, or at least The People manage to see through the charade. (Search for Irish Baby + Oath Keepers[google.com])
If you think one party is a part of the system I can only say you are completely wrong - both parties are the problem, as they only take turns stealing from us. The only difference is they have some slightly different preferences on what they prefer to take and how to take it.
1. We will NOT obey any order to disarm the American people.
For the worst example of this violation in recent history that I'm aware of see that which happened in Louisiana following Katrina. One of the most important arguments for gun rights are to protect oneself and loved ones, yet in their time of most need the citizens of this state were stripped of their guns using that very reason against them. I even had a conversation with a National Guard member who took part in this insanity, and he defended his actions tooth and nail as necessary and legal, yet turned around and did his class project on the need to defend the right to bear arms against, sigh...democrats.
2. We will NOT obey any order to conduct warrantless searches of the American people, their homes, vehicles, papers, or effects -- such as warrantless house-to house searches for weapons or persons.
3. We will NOT obey any order to detain American citizens as “unlawful enemy combatants” or to subject them to trial by military tribunal.
The list goes on. If you're a fan of these aspects of the Constitution then this organization should interest you. If you're a fascist, totalitarian, or similar authoritarian in principle then this organization will likely revolt you. Though most people who condone such authoritarian principles actually claim to be against the very principles they encourage and condone. For a little insight into that you may want to study up on Newspeak and Doublespeak.
Any service men or women in here that wish to express their take on such an organization?
Good ideas and everything but some people are going to view it as "extremist" or "wacky"....just like the baby incident. There shouldn't have to be an organization in the military whose sworn duty is to uphold the Constitution.....that's what the military is already for and what one swears into but hard times bring measures.
Once they get a little more popular and out in the media, they're going to be wrongly portrayed like the Tea Party...a far-right extremist group.
It is quite the display of decay that those who swore to uphold the constitution must reiterate that oath in such a manner, but that is because orders have become the clear usurper to the country, and either side will eagerly claim to be the true patriot. For those who so steadfastly believe that orders are the call of true patriotism, and patriotism is love of one's country, I ask them to tell me: what exactly is our country to them? Is it the law or the people? Or something else to them?
Two months is a necro? Well, I guess so, as it would seem more than a hundred years for a law to still be referred to would be considered a "necro" by many. Two months for a backwoods conversation would be equally appropriate.
