Call the number in the above link and say that you heard about the new plan and would like to switch to it. If you get denied, just wait a few minutes and call again!

Works out to be $20/mo less than if you added all this separately.

Page Plus is great, but their data fees are a whopping 1.20 per mb.
Verizon directly (for those without a data plan) is $1.99/MB AND they round up (aka $1.99 for 1kb of usage...). It was the biggest scam in the world honestly. For P+, it's only bad if you go over your limits (50MB or 20MB depending on your plan). If you use a lot of data, then someone like P+ is not going to suit you well.

I'm in the process of switching to PlatinumTel. Their rates on the RealPagGo plan are 5 cents per minute for calls, 2 cents per text, and only 10 cents per mb of data.

You can enter your regular usage and see what it would cost. They do have smartphones, but you need to buy them from a dealer, the main company doesn't have much of a selection right now.

Here's one of their dealers and their smartphones selection: http://lindonet.com/phones_smart.html
The main advantage of P+ is BYOD. PlatinumTel doesn't offer that so of course they can restrict you with their crapware of phones. You might as well use Virgin Mobile for $25/month if you need unlimited data/text if you don't care about what phone you use.

It's not that great of a deal. I pay the exact same amount for almost the same Verizon service, only without the texting. The texting isn't a big deal though, I just use GV on my phone and get it for free.

Plus it requires a 1 year contract renewal.

The downside with P+, for me, is that I pay for the $30 1200 Talk n Text but can't use my 50 MB of data because I'm using my old Verizon phone, an env3. I'd have to have it sent somewhere to "flash" it so that it'll allow me online, and point blank, it costs about $45 at cheapest that I've seen, and I can find absolutely nobody who is really reputable looking enough for me to send my phone in.

Fixes? I know there has to be one but I've never found it =(.

Go to HowardForums and go into their Page Plus forum. One of their stickies is a wiki on how to program specific models so that they can use data.

Looks like Verizon is trying to compete with Sprint's $69.99 Everything Data Plan... only with 100 less Anytime Minutes, and no "Any Mobile Anytime", BIS, GPS, TV, Radio (or maybe there is but don't advertise it).

The offered family plan is also trying to compete with Sprint's $129.99 Everything Data Family Plan as well... only $10 more, and the same drawbacks as above.

Still, this seems like a pretty good deal for Verizon! nod
Still can't compete with my 30-dollar Sprint SERO plan tho. Wink I can't believe the other rich people would pay $100/month for their cool iPhone or Droid 2. Smilie

Sprint's coverage area is absolutely pathetic compared to Verizon. I would rather overpay for Verizon's network and know for sure that I have coverage (voice + 3G data) everywhere I travel for my job.

I checked Sprint's coverage map for some of the places I travel for work. Not only is there no roaming coverage, there is no coverage period. For miles and miles it's just white space where as Verizon has full 3G coverage.

I then proceeded to check some other places I travel for work and alas, Sprint has roaming coverage.

Sprint is great if you stick to the major areas (urban, suburban, etc), but as soon as you start venturing off the main highways coverage drops off a cliff like T-Mobile

Yes 1 year renewal but does NOT change upgrade date(s)

BIG ALERT!!! This will only work if you receive the email. It is for their "preferred" customers ONLY!!! If you did not get the email you will not get the price. They give you a credit every month on your bill if you received the email.

Or you can be smart and try your luck anyway!! I saw this on Engadget yesterday and called and said that a friend got the email and told me about it so I was calling to see if I can get it too. He asked me if I had got the email, and I said I wasn't sure since I "hadn't looked at my email in a couple days". He asked me to check my email while he checked out something else (obviously reviewing the account). Never told him that I didn't get the email, but he put me on the plan anyway. 5 lines and 3 smartphones probably helped- this is gonna save me like $50 a month Big Grin

MEEEE!!!! lol, seriously, just call. I wouldn't advise lying and saying you got the email because they can look up a history of all promotional material that has been sent to you, email or snail-mail. Just say a friend told you about it and you were wondering if you could take advantage of it too. Definitely worth a shot IMO..

This is the plan I am under right now. It was called the Connect plan 2 years ago when I got it, but they discontinued it a few months later it seems. It was the $69 a month for unlimited call, text, and data I believe. It is/was nice because it takes my 20% discount off the whole package as opposed to just calling plan portion and not text or the crappy web I have on the Dare. The catch is that I don't believe it is for the full blow data package you would pay for with a BB or android device. I plan on getting an android phone this month and would be all about this plan, but I have a feeling it won't include smartphones, just like the old Connect plan. I plan on just jumping on to my parents family plan though so it should come out to about the same.

Yes it is for smartphones too. How the plan actually works is that each line has to get the $30 unlimited plan, and then each line gets a $20 bill credit each month, giving you unlimited data for $10. I have 3 smartphones on my plan (soon to be 4) and they put me on this plan no problem.
