Passing Employer Drug test - no OT

I recently got hired by a local employer and have to do a drug test. I have heard they do a hair test, which worries me.

On October 20, I took my first (and only) hit of pot from a vaporizer. One hit, I didn't even feel anything at the time, but felt really, really stupid for doing so, so I didn't continue.

This test is at the end of November and am now extremely worried. I'm guessing I won't pass, will I? I've already cut my hair to 1/2 an inch (its usually pretty short anyways).


Anything I can do to help?

Shave off all of your body hair? Cutting your hair won't really matter they can get it from anywhere. Maybe try detoxing? Never tried to pass a hair test so I don't know.

Cut your hair shorter than a half inch and shave your pubes.

How about you avoid doing drugs when you're hoping to get hired somewhere?

I wouldn't stress out over it as you don't even know for sure if they do a hair test or not.

DH work does hair tests only in cases of work injuries or suspected use, so DH gave up his pot smoking when he was hired.

And also, I agree with OK, don't do stupid stuff when trying to get a job.

It's unlikely that they'll do a hair test, but in any case, you'll probably be fine.

Don't wanna scare you, but I heard that marijuana use is detectable in hair for up to a year or more after the last usage. I'll see if I can find some sources.

Cutting your hair is a start, and I think there are special shampoos that detox your hair, but I can't testify to their effectiveness

someone told me that drinking lots and lots of pineapple juice helps you clean up your system, but who knows

With only one hit, I bet you'll pass. But I'm not an expert or anything.

I doubt they'll pay for a hair test to go back further than 1 month (which is basically what a piss test covers, except insurance companies will like a hair test better). And it's highly unlikely they'll test more than 3 months. Not to mention it's all about percentages so your percentages (from 1 hit) won't indicate a damn thing. Don't worry about it.

I think it's nice of you to register on the site to ask a drug test question on SD instead of searching out a drug-related forum first.

one hit and you stopped and never did before. I doubt it will detectable. if it is ask for restest and then you will be clean. good luck and stop smoking the weed

one hit won't show up much of anything. But you need some new friends though either way.
