the writing is on the wall here... within 2-3 years all the black friday shopping will be done the day BEFORE thanksgiving, on Wednesday night... Thursday the stores will be closed or dead again, and then you'll have a second wave of shoppers on Friday albeit not as large... so this black friday on thanksgiving should be limited to a couple of years. To me it just makes perfect sense...
It was a pleasure to be able to get all my shopping done online so I don't have to worry about Thanksgiving at all
agreed and additionally if you live 20 plus miles away from the locations or are in a lot of traffic, you are burning extra dollars anyways, sometimes thats the difference for online versus BM for me... especially people who live in more remote areas...
.. I have purchased a few things already and all FS.. and cash back, woohoo..

Can anyone explain how Walmart's 1 hr guarantee (for selected products ) will actually work this year?
It seems from researching online that there may be separate lines for each item (and 1 per person max)?
If the Start time is 6pm does that mean anyone in that particular line from 6pm-7pm will get to purchase the item (sometimes for later pick-up) or do you have to arrive well before 6pm and only those that "get thru the checkout" before 7pm will be guaranteed the item? THx
My daughter did it last year for the $98 TV. As long as you are in line by 7:00pm you are able to either get the item, if they still have them or get a ticket and go to the cash register and paid for it. You will pick it up when they get it at the store. She arrived at 6:55pm and there were anybody on that line. Her TV took 2 weeks to arrive I can't remember if they sent a text, email or called her.
Seeking to interview consumer for AARP article on Black Friday online shopping
I'm a SlickDeals forum frequenter and also a freelance writer who is seeking to interview a consumer (age 50 plus please) for an article I'm writing for AARP The Magazine on the topic of "Blueprint for foolproof Black Friday shopping from the comforts of home." This is completely legit and I can give you my credentials and editor's contact info for you to verify that I am who I say I am. But I'm on a tight deadline (must speak with you by 5 p.m. central tomorrow, Thursday) and looking to interview by phone someone who has successfully shopped online last Thanksgiving/Black Friday. If you fit the criteria, please private message me.
BF Costco/Sams one cent cell phone deals w/contracts
I've been hearing about Sams/Costco doing a $0.01 with 2 year contract deals on BF. I wanted to get one this year. I'm planning to get a Samsung S5 for Sprint and have Costco membership. Can somebody please describe their experience good or bad? Thanks
Is anyone else having problems with the BF App? It worked great yesterday, but now ad scans are no longer being displayed.
Are the ads out already? Looking for home appliances and two TV's to buy.
Having similar problems on the web version, page never loads.
Wow. My post has been quoted twice within the past 35 days. Please understand I posted my original comment almost a year ago, towards the end of 2013 BF. Sorry if I confused anybody. I have not even started looking at BF deals this year or gauged how well the app is working. Best of luck!
