But the restrictions don't usually last too long. Days or so, maybe a week or two, etc., depending on your posting and participation in the forums. (And yes, asking questions like this one does count as participating ). So just post or participate as you normally would and the restrictions will lift fairly soon. Even though you just joined today, you've already got a couple of posts under your belt, so it probably won't be very much longer for you. And welcome to SD! ![]() (oh, and once you do gain those PM privileges, remember that at first you will most likely have a 1 PM limit, including both sent and received. See my post above here regarding this.) |

how many post before you can PM
Hey. I thought I saw this question before but I could find it. So if anyone could point me in the right direction. How do you post pictures so they are the full size vs the small thumbnails that you have to click on to enlarge? Thanks in advance |

Hello, you mentioned that I have 1 PM restriction. So how can I know the exactly restriction?
Only by test myself?

If you mean truly full page size, that would actually depend on how each user has their options for how pictures show up in posts set in their account options. The default is to show thumbnails, so to see it full size by default instead, without having to click on it, each user would have to change that in their account settings. (It's set at that default mainly, I believe, for both bandwidth purposes and so that dial up users don't get overloaded.) But if you meant how do you get the picture that you've attached to show up within the post, itself, instead of as just the attachment at the bottom of the post, see this post for instructions: How to include images INSIDE your posts instead of at the bottom of them. And if you meant showing a picture from a website within your post, and not uploading/attaching a picture to your post, that would be done by clicking on the insert image icon while in the reply text box (or the new thread text box if you're creating a new thread) and pasting the url of the image in the pop up that appears. You can also just use the the [img][/img] tags, such as [img]InsertURLofPictureHere[/img], which works the same as clicking on the insert image icon. Again, though, for both of the above ways of showing pictures within posts, the picture will size to the user's chosen or default settings. Couple of things to remember if you're using the insert image/img tags to link to an image on a website: First is that not all forums allow image tags within posts. Most of the Deal forums, such as Hot Deals, do not. But some of the non-deal forums such as the Lounge or Site Issues do. Second, some sites do not allow hot linking (which is what you're doing when you directly link to the url from a site's picture), so if you're linking to a picture on another site, be aware that the image may disappear if the site you're linking to removes it from their website. |
