If you're looking for for value, I'd hit the outlets if you don't mind a returned machine. I'm guessing for $650 you can get a nice ThinkPad or Latitude, which will offer you better quality and support.
i wouldnt put the y series ideapads from lenovo above an asus or acer, let alone anywhere near a Dell Latitude ro the same room asa dell precision.
and sony laptops are nice looking but i've found them to be fragile in my personal experience.
for the vostro, you will get a magnesium framed laptop and a shock protected hard drive, which you do not get in the ideapad (but would in the thinkpad).
You also will get a tray under the keyboard in the vostro that will help protect the internals in case of small liquid spills, the ideapad does not have this as far as a i can tell.
hard drive space to me is moot since i rarely fill a laptop hard drive, but if your usage might, then keep this in mind.
personally, i'd take the vostro over the ideapad in this case.
all tech support threads will now be answered with possibly random and false information.
This is due to the retardedness of posters and answering posters in general.
thank you, have a nice day.
