EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE CHROME OS GIVEAWAY!

This is Google Chrome's main webpage explaining this test drive: http://www.google.com/chromeos/index.html
It's for people who "live on the Web" or basically does everything on the Web. You'll figure out what that means if you take their Living on the Web Quiz.

It is simply mind-boggling to visualize how short and concise this entire thread would be if all irrelevant posts were deleted. Of course everyone is "hoping" that they receive a CR-48. Why would they sign up otherwise? To mention as such here, though, adds absolutely nothing to this thread.
these shipments require no signature!!

Tracker is dead! Long live the Tracker

Some shipping 'trends' from the tracker:
  • 12/09: 2001 packages via Next Day Air @ 2am
  • 12/10: 2127 packages via Next Day Air @ 12am (midnight)
  • 12/10: 2116 packages via Ground @ 3pm (but didn't ship till 12/13)
  • 12/13: 1897 packages via Next Day Air (123) & 2nd Day Air (1774) @ 10pm
  • 12/14: 2009 packages via Next Day Air (8), 2nd Day Air (29) & Ground (1972) @ 8pm

  • 12/17: 13 packages via 2nd Day Air @ 4pm
  • 12/20: 1011 packages via 2nd Day Air @ 5pm (but didn't ship till 12/21)
  • 12/21: 7 packages via 2nd Day Air
  • 1/20: 563 packages via UPS Ground
  • 1/25: 2381 packages via UPS Ground
  • 1/26: 1200 packages via UPS Ground (but didn't ship till 1/27)
  • 1/27: 1200 packages via UPS Ground (but didn't ship till 1/28)

Q: How many do they give away each day?
A: Seems to be approximately 2,000 per day so far.

Q: Does Google E-mail me telling me my tracking number?
A: No. Google has had zero communication with those receiving notebooks so far. In fact, zero communication whatsoever. It either shows up at your front door or you didn't get one.

Q: I submitted yesterday so when do I get my notebook?
A: Not everyone gets one. Just keep an eye on the tracker to see if any are being shipped to your area. Be patient.

Batch 3 Reference Number List
Credits to whcodered for generating this! Please rep him!

These are all old numbers and have been shipped and delivered. No tracking numbers are available after 12/11/2010.

Batch 1: http://pastie.org/1366639
Batch 2: http://pastie.org/1371004
Batch 3: http://pastie.org/1370992 - Latest one as of 12/10/10
Batch 4 (and later): Not yet possible to get tracking numbers.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
if you feel lucky and hate to answer all those questions, choose the following link:

https://services.google.com/fb/forms/cr48basic/

http://www.digitimes.com/news/a20...PD213.html - Google ordered 60,000 of these so be patient I am sure it will take some time to get all of them out.

If you're impatient:

Go to: http://wwwapps.ups.com/WebTracking/reference
- Put in a shipment reference number between: AAC2000001 - AAC2002127 (this is an old set of numbers and will not reflect 2011 shipments)
- Add by 50 or 100 to see which state the number range is in, and when you locate the right state, add by smaller intervals.-thanks eggmuffin

If a package is delivered in you city; call 1-800-Pick-UPS say "track a package", say the tracking number, it will tell you the address the package was delivered to

Technically kind of paranoid to do this cuz you could just wait for it to come if it does, but personally, my apartment sucks and the ups man is never able to get in... so it'd be nice to know if there IS a possibility of a package arriving.
"If you do not have your tracking number, contact the shipper to obtain the tracking number. FedEx Customer service may be able to find your shipment information if you are unable to get your tracking number from the shipper. Contact us at 1.800.GoFedEx 1.800.463.3339."

And so the crowd turned ugly, when they realized that their entitlement to a free laptop will most likely go unfulfilled!

Riots and infighting ensued.

Ahh...I understand you a little better now.
I never said I was bored with it. I can't find that word in my original post. So we can say you are ASSuming.

Yes I do live on the web...but...guess what...that damn holiday got in the way of my 'onlineness'. But we will ASSume I am bored with it.

Your girlfriend is using it 8 hours a day..I am going to ASSume that she is trying to get away from all your ASSuming. Maybe trying to drown you out? That's just a JUDGEMENT I made based upon what you did NOT write.

Wow, to call someone an ass so many times, you must truly be the donkey. Stop being rude, he has many valid points.

Hmm...really? Did you read his comments last night? I was not being rude, I was following his lead. He was assuming without asking. "He said..that I said", when in fact I said no such thing. So.....
