Socket 1366 Motherboards, Getting Crossfire 5770
So I just bought the antec 900 case (i missed 902 deal) and I got 8 gbs of ddr3 ram [newegg.com] on the way and I'm going to microcenter this weekend to get the i7 950 and a heatsink. I'm waiting for the ocz vertex 2 ssd to go down (i missed that deal too >:L) I need to find a good motherboard that supports sli/crossfire for at least 2 gpus and has the 1366 socket, I might oc my i7 and I'm wondering if motherboards go on sale or if I should just buy one now. I need to build my computer by christmas. I was thinking about getting this motherboard motherboard [newegg.com] Also, I'm not sure if I should get the ati 5770 [newegg.com] 115 each after mir, I wanted to get two, are there any cheaper or better gpus? I want to run starcraft 2, black ops, crysis 2 on max and I want to work on at least 3 displays. I also wanted to atleast run mw2 on medium on eyefinity to show off too .What would be faster, 2 128 bit ati 5770 or one 256 bit card o-o Last edited by APhamX; 12-08-2010 at 04:39 PM.. |

May I suggest: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Pro..._-20145328
And it depends on what 256 bit card you're talking about. |

A 1156 socket would also have been cheaper, but you seem to have paid a little more for that memory controller to be on the CPU eh? But you'll skimp on the memory itself. The price difference/gb is actually almost non-existent. Anyways, yeah the 6850's are a little more but only $30 each (and that's retail price) over your budget.

And do you think I should wait for ssd to go down. I want to find the vertex 2 120gb for 120 on tiger direct again D: |
