Good point. I've never heard of a BT dongle that is compatible with xbox controllers. Do you have a link to it? I did a quick search but didn't get any hits.

I meant with the console...to give an xbox BT connectivity. None of them work, that isn't what I was saying...I am just saying it sucks that they charge $30 for a proprietary device when the technology cost them under $1 to make it. That is an incredible mark up, you normally see a 2x markup, but 30x????

I have no idea how a dongle would plug into the controller and work...would it go in the top or the bottom?

The dongle plugs into the controller where they head set cord normally would. Then the headset communicates directly to that.

The PX5 is marketed towards PS3 users but works the same for Xbox. Turtle Beach is releasing the same headset for Xbox (only difference is the xbox color scheme) and it will be 10 dollars more due to including the dongle. It won't release until the fall though so If you want it now it will cost you more.

Anybody ever use the Turtle Beach X11's? Are they decent for the price? I'm debating on purchasing them and I don't want to spend a ton of money on gaming headphones.

that's what I use now and I really like them. I had the x41s before and had a lot of issues with them and returned them and bought the x11s for $25 bucks or so. That was by far the best money spent for my xbox so far.

I am looking into getting the px5s though so I can try out the fully wireless part, and I haven't read any complaints about the loud popping noises and static that my x41s had. It would also be nice to be able to use these for my ps3 when UC3 comes out.

I like the wired bc you don't have to worry about batteries, but I just moved and my sitting area is a lot further away than before and I don't really want to keep the cords stretched out so far.

I thought I read the px5s use the same frequency the x41s did? The popping in the x41s was ridiculous.

I have a pair of X11's and they are pretty awesome. I mostly play COD, Halo, etc. and you can hear every little sound...even some you never realized were in the game. Granted, they aren't true 5.1 surround but they do a damn good job emulating it.

I use the X11s and they're great for the price. They may only be stereo and not 5.1 but you really don't need surround sound. Its quite easy to determine where players are in COD with these even if they're using Ninja. It'll take a little while to adjust to using a headset if you haven't used one before but definitely worth it.

The headset is powered by USB and you may have a buzzing issue while using a PnC cord but you can get rid of the buzz by plugging the headset USB into any other USB port thats not on the xbox. I plug mine into my TV.

They may, but I haven't seen any complaints about the popping, so maybe it is fixed?

I've got about 10 hours on mine and no popping yet.

I purchased a pair of X31's yesterday for 60 bucks. They were an Amazon Gold Box deal.
