I have not received my cube tray either?? Great swag every holiday season. I just emailed them. This happened before and after I emailed they sent out premium. I will wait and see what arrives. They just upgraded their site and it's even better. The new 46 rocks!!!!
I never emailsd but this year I got the following:
A set of spherical Ice Molds that have the Maker's Mark Logo carved into them & a brochure picturing what the finished product would look like and detailed instrcitions. The molds are hard red plastic and make 4 spheres each. My hubby is also an Ambassodor so when he gets his at work, we'll be able to make 8 spheres of ice at a time. Geeksquad sells a japanese device that automatically shaves down ice cubes into spheres for about $20 so where way ahead with this gift!
Sheres work better in single malts because they don't melt as quickly and let's face it, an ice-sphere with the m\aker's mark emblem on it is simply a way cool manner in which to serve maker's Mark at the holidays! This is a brand that totally gets it and encourages brand loyalty.
I often wonder if they back up a truck to Sam Raimi's (the=SPiderman dierctor) house and unload cases of whiskey and gifts each year because he features their Whiskey prominently in EVERY film he makes. He's just MAD for Maker's Mark for some reason.
Where the hell is the free stuff? can't find it I must be an idiot
First you must sign up to be an ambassador on their site. Once you do that, the free goodies arrive about two weeks before Christmas and they are often Holiday related. See my above post for details on this years freebies.
A new link got started cuz nobody posted to the old link for a long time. It would be best if somebody (not me since I'm outta here in a few minutes) added to the wiki the best links to sign up for ambassadorship. The coolest thing about being an abassador, in my opinion, is getting to name a barrel of whiskey! When it reaches maturity you can by whiskey from that barrel. I never did but I love the cute & frameable certificate they send you letting you know your humble little barrel with the name you picked is now ready for drinkin'... I commemorated the marriage of my brother on oner and it might a mighty nice (and WEIRD) anniversary present to send them.

Got the ice ball trays today, someone got them already listed on Ebay!
typical unethical freebsters. They are worthless on the collectors market because they send out millions. If you really want to try and make cash off these things DON'T EVEN OPEN THEM and store them in a box with a post-it note attached denoting the date and what others have told you is in the box. MAYBE, and that's a big MAYBE, ten or twenty years from now they'll be woprth something. Maker's Mark designs their freebies to be USED and ENJOYED by fans of their product... not resold on eBay. Scarcity and quality of what is used to make them drives prices on eBay. I can understand in a touch econmy, some bozo thinkin' he'll make loads of money off this but it's JUST PLASTIC buddies. I doubt they'll make the cost of the listing but who knows, I could be wrong and some Maker's Mark fan in Argentina will snap them right up!
MY motto is use and enjoy the things. My ambassador pals gave me their wrapping paper and gift bags two years running and dang if I didn't use them to wrap everybody's gifts except the kids. it was pretty! The ribbon also made a great cat toy. I believe other SDers mentioned that too.
Incidentally, the reason spherical ice balls are preferred by Whiskey drinkers is that they have less surface area and won't melt as fast. Therefore you get the chilling effect of the ice without the watering down of your fave whisky.
SO if anybody tries the molds out, let us know the successes and failures and how to fine tune it, OK? I'd be very grateful.
Happy whatever you celebrate and may the newly signed up ambassadors start getting cool stuff too!
