Thread Details

For anyone looking to use their Best Buy gift cards to purchase Amazon goods, I just found that you can buy kindle-labeled Amazon gift cards at B&M Best Buy stores. I rarely find any good deals at Best Buy but BB gift cards are still a common gift to receive so I assume some fellow SDers will be in the same boat this holiday.

Going through plasticjungle you'd normally pay $8 commission on $100 exchange, plus you have to send in your card and wait for the exchange by mail. Not a "hot deal" but didn't know where else to post this where shoppers could make use of the info.

Only catch is that the cards are only available in $50 increments, oh and I haven't actually tested the gift cards to make sure you can buy anything at Amazon.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

While online stores not having to pay taxes gives them an advantage over the B&M stores, that is not the reason why Amazon is thriving! If that was the only reason then all the other online retailers (newegg, Buy, etc) would have thrived as well. Amazon's business model is hard to understand but its proven over time that it works and it works wonderfully well. total customer satisfaction is what got them here and not tax break.
Yes, Amazon is great for customers who buy, but very bad for people who sell on their marketplace. The horror stories and customer service on that side is completely different from their other side, its like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

I have an Amazon seller account. I never had any issues ! I base this on about 30-40 items I sold on Amazon. their commission is higher than eBay+Paypal combined but there are some items that sell better on Amazon. If you opt to choose Amazon to fulfill your orders the buyers qualify for Prime which will draw in a ton of people! I have also bought several items sold on Amazon marketplace without issues.

Its because Amazon has NO physical locations to maintain, hence why ANY online retailer will beat out the price of any retailer with B&M stores. Shows how much YOU know about business. At this point, everyone that had a expiration date of yesterday, this information is a bit late Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)
BM store or not, there are many reasons not to shop at Best Buy. Ill shop at where ever I get the Best deal. Its very rare Best Buy has a decent deal. And also I dont agree with them tricking people to buy their $200+ HDMI cables when a $20-30 will do the same. And also they charge $150 to install firmware/setup a PS3, and thier cell phone insurance is $240 for 2 years, many other business offer this service for half of that, Squaretrade offers it for $99 for 2 years. And also Best Buy's customer service is terrible. I bought a cell phone on contract from them two weeks ago, and they switched my data plan from $10 a month to $30 a month without my consent. I spoke to a supervisor, and they wont honor their deal, even though my reciept says $10 a month. Best Buy pretty much scammed me.

Oh yeah many people werent able to get the $20 reward zone certificates that expired on the 25th, and were instead given 1000 points that can be converted to a certificate thats good for 3 months.

Thanks to shaddai, I got a HOT deal from them, Pioneer Elite SC 25 receiver, 23FD Blu ray player, all for $700 + 50GC. Rare HOT deal from Best Buy, but yet a hot deal on a very well known and popular receiver.

I think BB would be in trouble if Fry's expanded a bit. HHGregg is not that much competition for BB, but Frys, would probably having them go back to their old ways so that you could receive the service you expected and got probably back in the good ol days.

Why are you being such an ass? BTW im 25. If you like Bestbuy good for you, but my experiences in just the past few weeks have been terrible. After this cell phone screw up by them, ill shop elsewhere. I just went in today to get the amazon CG.

Also In my city there is a Frys electronics right next to Best Buy, the parking lots at Frys are always full, Bestbuy doesnt get near the amount Frys does.

Tell me about it. Ebay's still worse, but when someone can decide that a game you sold "doesn't work" after they A) left positive feedback about how well it worked B) waited til outside the Amazon return period for marketplace to complain and C) won't return the "defective" game and still get their money back, it's a joke (a BBB complaint finally got my money back from Amazon months later - and they've since changed their return timeframes)

Yes, I've heard ALL about selling on Amazon, one or two customer complaint on something that is not your fault, you are basically done. And if they shut you down and you have money in their account, they hold your money for 90 days, while they collect the interest on it and then give it to you.
