Problem with ViewSonic N2750w 27-Inch LCD TV - cycles through solid colors

Please help! my ViewSonic N2750w 27-Inch lcd tv only cycles through different colors and can't bring up the OSD to select menu or inputs. Does not show any video, just continuously cycle through full screen solid colors every 2seconds.

Was bought back 2006 so no warranty, and I've open it to check for bad caps and there were none that had bulges or leaks or burns anywhere, not even smell, everything looked good.

TIA

most monitors cycle some sort of solid color display when there is no source cable connected to the monitor

I had several different inputs on and playing video to it. I think I should still be able to bring up the OSD menu.

dumb questions
- are you using a remote to try and access the OSD? Are the batteries good? Can you access it from the TV directly?
- are your inputs valid (do they work on other monitors)?
- are your screen resolutions valid?

My Westinghouse is idiosyncratic, and I quickly learned how to get around these. I have to unplug it every now and then, and sometimes reset the set. I looked up the manual for your TV and can't find a reset function though.

I'm using the buttons on the tv itself.
Inputs are valid, but
resolution I'm not sure. I tried computer vga, s-video, regular cable tv, and the rca cables from sources that output a movie to another tv.

Just thought I'd let everyone know I got it to work by turning the tv on, and then press MENU+ENTER+Power button on the front of the tv and it worked. Found info on fixya.com
