It always seems fighting zombies in video games you always have PLENTY of ammunition.
It's not like that in real life, stock up!

This should last me a while. It's beneficial to practice with the ammo you plan to use so this is perfect for that.

I thought this would be more popular. I guess everyone got their fill of .40 the first time around.

Its not gonna be very popular because its a 1000 rounds of HP. Almost all indoor ranges do not allow HP bullets, just FMJ. So most people use HP for defensive purposes only. Its gotta be a very bad day when you need 1000 rounds of defensive ammo as a civilian.

If this was a 1000 rounds of FMJ for around $200 bucks then it would be much more popular. But as it stands you are talking almost 30 cents a round including shipping. I can get .40cal FMJ from Walmart for about 29 cents a round any day. (50 round box for $13.99 + 5% VA tax). Only drawback is your limited to 6 boxes of ammo at a time.

I'll still TU because its a gun thread, and I love gun deals.

The point of this ammo is to be able to practice with the rounds that you are carrying. Its self defense ammo at only $.29 a round. I thought it was a good deal. But if its ball you want ball ammo, the cheapest brass cased ammo I can find is here:

Smokn deal on good self defense ammo, but I can't take advantage of it because I carry a .45, 9mm, 0r .380.

What Im trying to get you to understand is exactly what I've already said. Most people only have access to an indoor range, which only allows FMJ ammo. How can I practice with HP ammo when there is no place to use it at?

The only time most of us will actually get a chance to shoot defensive ammo, is in a life or death situation.

Interesting...at the four indoor ranges I've used, there has never been any mention of not allowing HP ammo. In an auto-loader, I would not carry HP rounds if I had not already fired dozens of HP rounds at the range. There is a fair chance that some semi-autos wouldn't handle HP as well as they cycle FMJ. Time to find out is on the range.

Now that I think about it, why would the RO care if you are using defense rounds? I can see 'no non-brass ammo(pistol)' but since no range I've used cares about HP, what's the problem with it for some?

All of the ranges I've visited in VA outlaw HP.. even the NRA's actual HQ in Fairfax, VA which has a 50 yd indoor range.

About the reason I can imagine is that HP may fragment and send bits back towards the shooters on the line. I'd love to practice shooting my Hornady TAP 180gr that I keep loaded in my G23 and its 2 spare mags.. but I've never heard of an indoor range that does allow it. Since I cant practice with HP ammo.. the least I can do is buy 2 of the most reputable names in the business. Thats Glock & Hornady.. I would imagine if there was a problem between the two it would be well advertised.

Another thing.. indoor ranges I've visited that allow shotguns, only allow slugs. No shot. Im guessing for the same reasons: ricochets..
