RETIRED Safeway B&M Deals Thread - no off topic discussion

Sorry for the OT but I know there's several of us from TX who bought the MC deal and didn't get the CATs. I am buying some stuff from Amazon and so it made sense for me to take my Master Card to HEB and buy the $100 Amazon GC there and throw in a store coupon for "Save $15 wyb $100 GC". Worked for Amazon but it looks like it's most retail stores (excluding HEB, Visa, MC, etc). Just throwing it out there as an option for those of us in TX. Helped me stretch my dollars a little more.

Regarding SCO and purchasing gift cards it worked great. Scanned both cards $100 and $50 MC, and JFU of $30 came off. Paid $130 with the fees and got back the 10 coupon. Easy and without issues. Thanks for everyone's advice and help!!

GC purchase @ SCO is not allowed in my store, every time I buy GC they check my DL to match credit card I'm using for payment

I was going to say this as well... buying GC at SCO is very YMMV... Here you used to be able to do it about a year ago but they changed it some time this year, I'm not sure if it's all Randall's stores here in Houston or just the stores I go to but they have signs saying you can't purchase GC's there. Sometimes the SCO cashier will offer to ring them up for me at her register up front but that register doesn't have a catalina machine. So I always use the regular registers now.

I've successfully done the mastercard deal twice so far with 2 of my cards, and fortunately was able to roll my older mastercards into it without having to spend more of my own money Like others reported I bought a $100 and a $50 and got $30 j4u discount as well as the $10 oyno. Thanks and reps to Lisa123. I didn't get a $10/$50 but that's OK, I don't like feeling pressured to spend $50 on groceries at once anyway

Fresh Express Salad Kit rang up absolutely free after 2.00 j4u mfr q and 20% j4u produce q took off the additional .50! On one card I also have 10% off bagged salad (works once per day) and it took off .25. My 20% j4u then took off an additional .45 giving me .20 overage Will go back later and buy more using the tonytantillo q ETA - Can you use more than one of the t.t. q's in one transaction? Last week I bought 2 of the 2-lb. bags of baby carrots and tried to use 2 of the .75/1 t.t. q's. The register appeared to take them both and I inserted them both in the SCO slot. But later I checked my receipt and only one came off?

Tried using the 20% frozen food in-ad q at the SCO but it required cashier's assistance - cashier was puzzled and started looking up through my list of scanned items as if he was going to just calculate the 20% off himself. He said I don't understand this you should just be able to scan it and it comes off. He then scanned his override key and tried scanning the q again and this time it worked. But I'm guessing now it's probably better to use that q at the regular registers. BTW for some reason my $3 FF cat did not print this time even though the machine was working and I had 16.32 in frozen food after all j4u and store discounts but before the 20% q was scanned I had bought the same amount last night and I did get the cat.

ETA again - Also saw Hormel lunch meat on clearance marked down to .99 (no % off sticker, this store often marks down all packages sharing a bar code to a clearance price). I have a personalized deal of 2.63 (regular price 4.49). I tried buying one of them hoping it would ring up free but no j4u discount came off... it ended up costing .99. But in the past I have had success with a "cents off" j4u coupon stacking with one of these types of clearance deals. I guess a personalized deal won't stack? But if it had been a 50% clearance deal then a personalized deal does stack - I just had luck with a deal this 2 days ago on some 50% off pop tarts.

If I buy GC with Fresh Express salad it will work or need to buy GC alone to trigger the discount and CAT?

I used the SCO last night because I wanted to ring the items slowly,one at a time and make sure the discounts were working. And if not, I could just cancel and get a different combo of GCs with out holding up a line or pissing off a cashier. I did ask the attendant first,if it was okay to do GCs at the SCO. And I paid with a credit card,no problem (this is in the Bay Area , non- ghetto) so YMMV.

Why is this working for only $150 in MCs? I understand why the cat is printing but not why this does not require 2 $100 MCs. I guess if it works it works. Just seems strange but whatever.

So many discussions, can't quite keep up....

Are the recent people getting the $30 off (buying $100 + $50) having to load the deal to the JFU website, or is it automatically loaded/available to all? Or was is loaded yesterday?

I was able to do the deal yesterday, but now have two new cards, but can't find the deal on JFU.
