Problems printing Bricks coupons? First posted here: This may fix your problem! Just follow the instructions in this thread to alter the url to suit your browser. If you want to rep alanisrox69 (Derek), he posts often in the CVS threads.

Problems scanning Q's at SCO? First posted here:

Credit for this goes to Skibum - On the SCO at Safeway if your coupon doesnt scan you can manually input the numbers using the enter PLU function. Basically its the option where you would enter produce.

A coupon database is available at www.Families.com once you've registered there. Good resource for checking availability & location of coupons for specific items you're interested in. (Thx to errickson for the info!) Another great one is available at www.coupontom.com [http]. And the nice thing here, you don't have to register!

This thread has good info on what coupons are available, what insert they were in and the date.

Also keep in mind the Entertainment Book typically has money saving coupons for Safeway listed quarterly. And, if your store doesn't object, these coupons sometimes do not beep based on dates.

Coupon use at Safeway
Safeway usually issues store specific coupons via various formats...newspaper ads, mailers & emails. You can sign up for emails on their website.

Their coupons tend to scan fine at any store within their brand, even if the stores are not in the same area. For example, Tom Thumb coupons work at Randall's, and vice versa.

Their coupons also tend to scan fine at any store within their brand, even if the coupon says it's good only at a certain store. The best example of these are the ones issued when a store is remodeling or for a grand opening.

Usually, their coupons scan fine when you are using two different types of their coupons on one product. For example, $1 off Tide from a newspaper ad and $2 off Tide from some other source. This only works when the two coupons are obviously different (check the codes). I am not sure if it would work if you were only buying one item and trying to use two store coupons. I've never had a reason to test that.

Their coupons can be used in conjunction with manufacturers coupons, even if that causes an overage, although they won't pay you to take products out of the store! laugh out loud

Some stores don't accept internet printable coupons, there is a corporate policy on what coupons they take, and some stores follow this policy to the nth degree. If you get to one of these stores, try the store down the street, it is probably much more coupon friendly.

Manufacturer coupons for free or bogo items tend to attempt to give you credit for the price of the item without the card discount, but they usually beep for the cashier to approve the coupon.

Self Checkout lanes (SCOs) are a great way to get out of the store quickly. You can use your coupons except all BOGO, FREE and coupons over $3.00 (may be $2) require cashier intervention. This can be a hassle if you have very many of these type of coupons. You will also have trouble if you're buying a clearanced product that has the % off tag that has to be scanned.

Stores in different areas have different promotional deals regarding the doubling and/or tripling of coupons. If you see someone commenting on it here, you need to check what your local store does.

And while coupons may scan fine, the cashier you're dealing with can make any of the above YMMV. Smilie

SAFEWAY SCAN ACCURACY POLICY: First posted here:

I asked for their scan accuracy policy and this is what they replied with:
Also, please find below our scanning accuracy policy at your local Safeway stores:

We guarantee the accuracy of our electronic checkout system. Safeway will give you the item free, if the price on your detailed receipt is different (higher or lower) than indicated in advertisements or shown on the shelf price tag. You will only receive one of the items for free with the remaining items at the correct price.

If the item is on sale and register rings up the regular price, the store will only pay the difference on the item. If a customer is overcharged on a Buy One Get One special, not only will they receive the free item, they will receive the overcharged item free as well. It is subjected to a limit of one.

This does not apply to liquor, tobacco, or fluid milk items. In these cases, you will get the item at the sale price instead of free.
Safeway policy on B1G1F Q usage:

"On Buy One, Get One Free ("BOGO") offers, customer must purchase the first iem to receive the second item free. BOGO offers are not 1/2 price sales. If only a single item purchased, the regular price applies. Manufacturer's coupons may be used on purchased items only -- not on free items."

COUPON SOURCES: (also see S'momma's post #1 above for more info)

JFU DISCOUNTS and COUPONS (Linked to Safeway Club Card)
1) Coupon Center discounts:
a. $X.XX (specific price given) These are the electronic version of the SW in-ad clippable coupons. They are unlimited unless otherwise stated and can be used only once (one-time use).
b. SAVE $X.XX These are manufacturer eCoupons good only on the number of items specified (usually 1) and are one-time use (just like paper MQs)
c. $X.XX OFF These are Safeway eCoupons good on all the specified items in your transaction, unless otherwise stated (i.e. Limit 1, Limit 2, etc.). These coupons are one-time use.

2) Personalized Deals discounts:
a. $X.XX (specific price given) or FREE. These are tailored to a JFU members account. They are unlimited unless otherwise stated and are one-time use.

Important Notes:
Discounts a, b, and c may be stacked and may or may not result in overage.
Paper MQs may be stacked with discounts a and c only.

ELECTRONIC COUPONS
o Shortcuts, Cellfire and other e-coupons can be stacked for use on one item (or more, as specified by the eQ, e.g. $1/2 or $1/4). eQs may also be combined with paper Qs. eQs are one time-use only and should come off your account within 24 hours of redemption (unless there's a glitch).

Shortcuts - Register at www.shortcuts.com with your zipcode or one from the Wiki (see above), and update the profile with your Club Card info. Max number of offers that may be loaded to your card at any time is 75. To view all eQs loaded to your card at once: Click on the "My Coupons" tab >> click on the "Brand" label to sort the list into brand groups alphabetically and then click the "Print" icon on the page (not your browser icon). An preview list will open in a new tab or window rather than an output document. You can simply view and close the page, save to PDF or print to hardcopy.

Cellfire - Register at www.cellfire.com using the same process as above. You may load as many offers as you wish. Click the "Print Shopping List" button to view a single page of all eQs loaded to your card, sorted by brand.

Coupons.com - Register HERE [coupons.com]. Offers may differ from those at Cellfire and Shortcuts.

Softcoin - Register HERE [softcoin.com]. Offers are somewhat different from Shortcuts, Cellfire and coupons.com. More details here.

* Certain eQs are duplicated on both Shortcuts and Cellfire -- and that's a good thing! Big Grin All eQs per like item should come off at once at checkout.

Issues with E-Coupons Not Redeeming? File a dispute in the "contact us" section directly on each particular e-coupon site. You may need to scan your receipt and email it to the company. Please note that shortcuts.com does not have an automatic setup for card-refunding so you will NOT see SAFEWAY or affiliates listed as an optional store in the dispute form. You will need to submit generic contact comments with your store/card/receipt numbers and items and then shortcuts will send you a gift card for the amount you did not receive in e-coupons.

PAPER COUPONS
* Paper Qs may be combined with eQs in the same transaction. Check the following threads for paper Q possibilities:

Hope this isn't a repost, but thought I would share a catalina that I got:
Between 10/29 and 11/28
Buy Post Cereal and Post Pebbles Treats 6 oz or larger
Buy 4 & get $3.00
Buy 5 or more & get $4.00

And the Starbucks 4 pack deal wyb 2 is still working, but my cashier freaked me out and put the first catalina in bag with out me seeing it so I didn't think it printed so I though it was over! I did two back to back transactions so I was pleasantly surprised when I found it in my bag!

I went to Safeway and got 1 Sara Lee Cheesecake-$6.19, 1 cherry pie-$7.59, 1 pumpkin pie-$6.99, 1 large pound cake-$5.99 along with the Ben & Jerry's pint of ice cream and 5 pkgs. of Nesquik chocolate mix.
My receipt shows regular price $37.00
minus the club price $6.09
minus the Sara Lee in-ad cpn $10.50
minus the 30% cpn $7.80
minus the mfg. cpns $12.45 (includes the $2.50 B&J J4U cpn)
with a total of $.53 ($.37 was sales tax). It is the most bizarre receipt I have received so far from Safeway so I can't really tell what amts. go with what items. Each discount is listed individually as Sara Lee with no other description. I just took the amounts from the receipt and added them up.

I see for the ad starting tomorrow that Fresh Express Spinach is 0.99.... anyone know what the register does when paired with the $2/1 Safeway coupon? Does the register adjust the coupon amount down?

Edit, OOPS, I think it is $1, not 0.99... Wink

Yes -- I have found it beeps for any Fresh Express less then $2. I have been using it on the Fresh Express bag of mixed greens that sells for $2.50. I also had luck using one coupon when the salads were on sale for B1G1. FYI: It expires on the 31st.

SO, does the cashier generally adjust it down to the selling price, or is that a battle?

Oh, and I am talking about the $2 FE Spinach coupon that expires 11/30/11
The one that expires 10/31 is for the FE Bonus Pack salad only. Different issues of that produce magazine.

Thanks, I thought I remembered seeing the singles for 1.50 at the beginning of the week and thought about that .75 Q but then later forgot to follow up on it. I have maybe just enough room in my freezer for a couple more singles but no more big pizzas Smilie When do the $5/3 coupons expire?
Where is the 30% off come from? I am in Sacramento and it did not work.
Thanks

Whenever I've had a coupon over the selling price, the cashier will say they can't take it, or mark it down, or combine it on 2 products, or anything. This has happened to me quite a few times and it's always the same. If they notice, that is, so since it beeps, it may be a problem

Whenever I've had a coupon over the selling price, the cashier will say they can't take it, or mark it down, or combine it on 2 products, or anything. This has happened to me quite a few times and it's always the same. If they notice, that is, so since it beeps, it may be a problem
This is my worry, of course.

don't recall but if you do 2 spinach and use $2MQ will it beep? and/or give MQ before store card Wink...I'm sure it has to work some way...
That was going to be my first try tomorrow with 2 packages to see if it doesn't beep. Just wondered if someone else knew differently...

Yes -- I have found it beeps for any Fresh Express less then $2. I have been using it on the Fresh Express bag of mixed greens that sells for $2.50. I also had luck using one coupon when the salads were on sale for B1G1. FYI: It expires on the 31st.
If you have the October mailer it has a 1$ off FE Salad SW Q, that one should work,
can even be stacked, if price is higher..

I realised today that within the same city SW has different ads. Soda was 1.25 in one store and 99 cent in another, not even a mile apart...odd
I my confusion I forgot to try the 30% code...I am getting sloppy, even forgot the 25% on two packs of vegies the other day!

Some chocolates bags had B2G1 peelies on them (hersheys) and there was a 1$/2 blinkie machine right in front of the snickers squares, which are 2$ wyb 4

Other finds:
1$/3 Giradelli baking chocolate Qs and 1.50 off Reddiwip wyb Marie Callenders Pie

The Kashi cereal Qs nowhere to be found....nor the Fresh Magazine...
