"OLD" SERO USERS (specifically SERO 500 users): To get any of the new smartphones from 2010, you need to upgrade to a $40 SERO Premium (only open to SERO members). To get EVO/EPIC (4g phones) you need to pay $50/month +tax and fees. SERO Premium is better than EPRP IF you only want a single line with 500 Anytime Minutes. If you want a family plan or more minutes, compare pricing with EPRP.

Did some comparisons for those of us who have the 25% discount plan. Savings aren't really there. This plan equals that at the end though. Hope this helps.

(Agreed, it may not be worth the hassle to try and switch to EPRP IF you still receive >=25% discount... however for those of us who don't have ANY discount (or much less than 25%), this would be a better deal than what we have. -Chokaay)

1) Can NEW CUSTOMERS sign up for this plan? Yes, read the wiki...

3) Can EXISTING NON-SERO SPRINT CUSTOMERS sign up for this plan? Yes, but with some hassle. Read the wiki...

4) What is the difference between SERO and EPRP (a.k.a. "new" SERO)? The old legacy "SERO" program featured 2 low-priced individual plans, and has been grandfathered by Sprint for sometime so it is NOT available from Sprint to new customers (so don't even ask Sprint for a SERO plan). The "EPRP" program (which much of this thread incorrectly referred to as "SERO"... including in the OP) replaced the old legacy SERO program in 2008 and gives you more features such as "Any Mobile, Anytime" and Family Plan Options, but for a higher monthly rate. Due to market pressure, Sprint unveiled the "SERO Premium" program for existing legacy old SERO customers a few months ago, which allows legacy SERO customers to upgrade their individual plans to what is essentially an individual "EPRP" plan for an additional fee. (It may be a bit confusing due to how frequently the acronyms are incorrectly used... even in this thread.)

5) What does EPRP include? EPRP includes the following:

6) Can I combine my NVP Discount (ie: Corporate, Student, Association, Credit Union, etc) with an EPRP plan? If you are signing up for a NEW EPRP plan, then NO, you will lose your NVP discount. If you are switching from an existing old legacy SERO plan WITHOUT any additional discounts, then NO, you will not be able to add an NVP Discount to your EPRP plan. If you are switching from an existing old legacy SERO plan WITH an existing additional discount, then MAYBE you will be able to transfer your discount to your EPRP plan... however be warned that Sprint has begun auditing SERO and EPRP accounts to remove any additional discounts from these plans. If you are one of the lucky few who got to keep your discount after the switch, how long you will be able to keep it is unknown. To be on the safe side, when comparing plans I wouldn't factor in any additional discounts with EPRP plans.

7) Is EPRP that good of a deal? If you get any NVP Discount (ie: Corporate, Student, Association, Credit Union, etc) >=25% from any major wireless provider, then you should compare your current pricing vs. EPRP pricing and see how much you can save. Some people will save more with EPRP, others won't. It all depends on your needs, usage, and what you desire in your wireless plan & phones. If you have a low NVP Discount <25% or don't have any discounts on your wireless plan, then chances are that EPRP will help you save some money every month.

8) Can I get a discount on my new/existing NON-SERO, NON-EPRP Sprint plan? If you qualify for a NVP Discount (ie: Corporate, Student, Association, Credit Union, etc), then sure! Just call up Sprint and have them add it on. (A 24-month contract renewal is required for all NVP discounts though, so be prepared to stay with Sprint for another 2 years.) If you don't qualify for any NVP Discounts, then there may be "less ethical" ways of obtaining one... but I don't condone doing this so I'm not going to mention it here (although I'm sure some other posters in this thread will).
