I was wondering the same thing. Why did this have initial negative feedback? I was thinking of suggesting this laptop to my uncle as he was looking for a laptop. I figure a core i3 at 500 with a blu ray player and 4gb of ram is a decent deal.

I went ahead & ordered one just in case. Worst case senario is not to pick up from BB. This is very close to the mispriced Acer I bought from Costco in late November except for it's extra $20 shipping but the better than average Costco warranty. Come to think of it, the Gateway's 370 is slightly better than the Acer's 350.

This is what the famous BB Gateway with i5 cost in Jan '10. It's still a good price for a laptop with blu-ray, hdmi out and an i3. It's only a good price because of the blu-ray, though. Otherwise for a bit cheaper you can get an i3 with no blu-ray.
I have the same model except with an i5. It's been solid for almost a year now. I don't like the keyboard or touch pad, so I use a usb mouse and keyboard at home. The screen is just ok. The screen hinge, however, feels quite solid. There is some flex to the keyboard, but overall for the price I'm still quite satisfied. Read*Know*Do http://www.totse2.com Raw Data for Raw Nerves

Otherwise the screen is good, the keyboard is good, the features for the price are good, and I have no issues with the build quality. Its a lot better made than my HP G60. |
