Notes:
These are all socket 1155 - you will need a new motherboard for these chips!
These are "mainstream" not "enthusiast" chips. From what I've gathered, its not much of an upgrade if you already have socket 1366 - more of a sidegrade. For everyone else, looks to be a big upgrade. That being said - look at the reviews above and see the i7 950 being outperformed in a bunch of tests. In fact, the 2600k is being compared to the 980x by some.
Enthusiast chips from Ivy Bridge should be released early 2012.
If you want to use more than 2 GPUs, you need a motherboard with an NF200 chip, which increases latency.

Edit: Added PDF file (thanks RANDALSW) as MC took down the advert

I ordered online this morning for store pickup........ I didn't receive any confirmation but wanted to be at the store before it opened at 11:00am.

Got there 10 minutes before it opened and two people were in line waiting; of course all wanting a Sandy Bridge processor. At 11:00am a lot more people, but everyone was civil and proceeded in the order we stood at the door to the CPU's.

Turned out that Sharonville Micro Center had canceled all the online pickups to give people at opening priority. Looks like it is really up to the individual store on what they do (Do you want to make the crowd angry outside your door or the people at home on their computers?)

I purchased a 2600k and the assistant indicated that they have 6 in stock and around 20 of the 2500k; so I don't expect the stock to last very long.

A little surprised that there are lots of 2400's left at $149. It's the biggest discounted chip percentage wise and you still can get a 12% overclock on it. [anandtech.com] You can also under-volt it for HTPC use.

Too bad Fry's sucks now... on the other hand New Egg does have some good discounts on a few CPU-mobo combos.

2500K is out of stock on Amazon at $232.42.. Actually, now all non S versions are OOS.

Anyone got a shipping email for those that actually took the risk?
Got confirmation back at 9:11 CST for 2500k-P8P67 at bundle price via web order using 2 day delivery. Started to reserve for in-store pickup but weather had started worsening and I was more worried the 4 hour RT drive would become an overnight stay.

First post - had been following this via MC emails and then saw it here after ordering this AM.

What store was this? It sucks to be in the valley. That store in NE Ohia has everything in stock 12 different Mobos available. The Silicon Valley store has only 4 motherboards available!

Came to MC to return the SSD i bought last week and lo and behold, got the last 2500k at Tustin, CA and ASUS pro combo. They still have around more than 80 of 2600K (according to their computer). May or maynot proceed with the built plan

Mine was as well. Disappointing, I placed the order around 4:00am this morning. Maybe they gave them to people already at the store...
