which one lasts longest when pouring directly onto sponge ? how would you rank them?

I've been using Dawn all this time, and i think they're watering it down. So I was planning to look into other brands of soap.

I've never bought Gain dish soap before.
Has anyone used it, with the recent freebie promotions ?

I don't pour soap into a sink full of water, so I don't need any opinions on that.

I'm not brand conscious...if it has some "soap" molecules in it, it will clean the dishes (within reason). I
buy the cheapest, on-sale brand possible (usually Sun Light, Ajax, or another off-brand).

Dawn is the Best, without question. Ajax is very good. But Id just assume use Sun Light.

Gain is probably very good, their laundry detergent is top notch. They are trying to use the brand name to move into other related markets.

dawn is good for cleaning eye glasses, along w/ dishes, oil-soaked birds, etc.
I get the cheapest dawn, the light blue stuff usually 99c or less for 16oz, then squirt about 1/4 of it into an old, empty dawn 16oz container and it fill up with water.

I am a Dawn user but did get a bunch of free Gain. It works ok but I think Dawn is better and takes less.

I hadn't really thought about it but gergev mentioned cleaning eye glasses and I just had an epiphany. I seem to be having a heck of a time get my glasses clean and not smeary. That explains it. I have Gain in my dispenser, not Dawn. ( I have a built in pump dispenser so there is no bottle to see to remind me what kind I am using)

Dawn makes excellent bubbles!! I grew up with Palmolive and like how it keeps my hands, so I stick with it. A word of warning tho is that Palmolive has recently changed their bottle design and has made the hole bigger in the top-so that even tho the directions say to use less--it squirts out 4 times as much as it use to. I recently switched to an OXO soap dispenser (push down not automatic) and it dispenses just enough so it rinses easily without leaving a residue.
