I went ahead and got one. My netgear router requires a restart about once a day to connect. Good reviews on this one, I'll give it a shot.

Random comment: It seems really strange that routers are still made without gigabit ports. It's not like it's expensive technology...I wonder what the reasoning is behind keeping 'up to date' ports on most routers.

This Medialink router is designed and manufactured by Tenda and is equivalent to the Tenda W268R which can be found on Amazon for $30 Shipped [amazon.com] or at Microcenter for $20 [microcenter.com]. The only difference is a black case versus a white case. See the attached Request for Change in Identification document from the FCC website showing that they are identical.

You can get the 300Mbps big brother to this one from Meritline for $35: Tenda W368R [meritline.com]

If you really need this particular HDMI cable, then you might consider this a good deal. I'm pretty sure you don't need a fancy cable like this for 3D or ethernet.

When you build something in bulk, a $1 difference in price for a single part can really add up. This router targets the everyday user who has no need for gigabit ethernet and doesn't even know what it is.

I tried to cancel but it says its being prepared for shipment 20 mins later, Guess there is a disadvantage to haveing prime. Anyone know if I can refuse shipment?

I just called Amazon directly @ 1-800-201-7575 and the rep was able to cancel my order, although the system did not let me. Ask the rep to cancel the items first and than the shipping, that worked for my rep.
