Welcome Welcome to the Publix Thread!!
The BEST Grocery Store Thread on SD!!

The Publix Thread is a group of Publix peeps who are a wonderful collection of couponers utilizing this thread to share ideas, sales, coupon combinations and fabulous finds.

Just A Few Notes:

* This thread will be updated and maintained regularly by multiple users.

* This is a group effort.

* Please no ethical discussions or debates (i.e. food stamps, world peace, etc.) Take this to the Lounge if you feel that strongly about it

* Try to stay on topic as much as possible.

* No public bashing or humiliation.

* If your discussion gets too individual store specific, please take the chat to a PM.

* Anyone with any ideas and suggestions relating to rules and format, please PM me with suggestions.

Remember, we don't get paid to be here. We are here because we want to be. People do make mistakes. If a mistake is made by a poster, point it out gently and move on. If you can do it in a PM, all the better.

Use the Wiki, it is your friend and has a wealth of information. All of the former information listed in this post has been modified and moved to the bottom of the Wiki.

Thanks again to hidnprncss for all of her great work with the Original Thread.

Ugh! I hate when you get a new thread sometimes, because other deals and stuff do not transfer over via quoting. Mad OTOH I like it because I know where I left off....

Anyhow, I had a question for MsAttitude. You posted this in the Publix thread yesterday (Can't do a direct quote...)

Quote :
Seventh Generation
It would have been nice to have seen a BOGO for it today, but alas there was none
However it has to be really cheap at this point
yesterday there were 2 different $1.00MQ
in the Harvest book there is are 2 different PQs
in the Advantage buy YELLOW flyer, there is a PQ
and there is now a Target $1.00
I have never bought the stuff, but I think it is 2.99
making it free....
2*2.99=5.98
5.98 - (2)$1.00MQ=$3.98
3,98- (1) $2.00/2PQ=$1.98
1.98-(2) $1.00TQ=-$0.02
that is just one coupon senario...there are lots of combos!

(as it was pointed out to me) Of course the above scene ONLY works if you are allowed to use P, C, and MQs all in same transaction..
I know most of the Publix near me will not accept Target Qs but Just trying to help out ALL areas of the Publix forum!

Alsoan idea to those that are not allowed to use a Competitors Q with a Publix Q.....why not during transaction use the Competitors Q....save your receipt and next time you are in Publix, bring it to customer service with the "missed" Publix Q.
I am really confused here...My Harvest booklets only have coupons for the Greenwork's Items, not Seventh Generation. Is yours different? We heart Seventh Generation Products here, and I'm excited about getting them cheap at Target, but free at Publix would be better!

My Deal on Rubbermaid containers that I posted yesterday :

Quote :
Rubbermaid Easy Find Lid Containers are $2.39. WIth 40% off that would be $1.43. Using the $1/1 from the Publix Green Flyer and the $1/1 Insert/Printable, that would mean $0.57 overage per one you buy. NICE!
Last but not least, does anyone have any of the Hood Simply Smart Blinkies that they are willing to trade? Or even the printables? Thanks!

JD- You may wish to update your Hood deal, as the $0.50/1 hood chocolate milk is now $1/2.

Hooray - shiny new thread! Thanks to all who had to work hard for such a smooth changeover Smilie

Also other exciting news is that I won tickets to the Falcons/Bucs game this Sunday! My DH and I are excited to spend the weekend in Atlanta - but I'm even more excited to take a stab at some Publix shopping there! laugh out loud That's the land of doubles, right?

Now please forgive a newb question (I've never lived in a doubling state), but does doubling happen automatically? Do I need to ask beforehand if the store does so? Do I need to keep coupons that can be doubled separate from others over $1?

I'm in Atlanta right now Whee

Yes they double, up to $0.50. Their sales also ring up 1/2 price, so you don't have true bogo here (booo!). So say an item is bogo @ $1.00. Each item would ring up $0.50, instead of one for $1, the other for $0 (like Florida).

Doubling happens automatically unless the coupon has a 9 in the front of the barcode. You don't need to ask before hand, as they all do it. (Publix, Kroger also) You can keep all your coupons together, it won't mess anything up.

Have fun with doubles (and the game!)

Living in Land of Doubles here! wave
For doubles to occur in the Publix POS system, you will need to show your driver's license or a picture ID. If you are from FL or Coastal GA, the cashier presses a button to suppress any doubling.

Congrats on your win! And Congrats on your trip to the LOD!!

Doubles are magic. They happen automatically with absolutely no worries or input from you or the cashier. The only thing that won't double are ones that start with a 9. And your only worry is whether or nor a cashier will read the Q's and decide to supress doubling on the ones that say DND.

Reps are back...for now. Stick Out Tongue I owe loads of gratitude to everyone that got me where I am! Read the *NEW* CVS FAQ and post your questions there. Let's keep the deal threads deal-related, please.
Would it kill you to read the wiki? Or to read the thread? All the experts got to where they are by reading...you can too.

I forgot to mention last night that my Publix in Auburn had the "harvest" coupon booklets at the entrance to the store.

OT.

OT #1:
I decided to join tn_native and became a 3P (please check the definition here [urbandictionary.com]).

Oop, that was a wrong link. Well, please check out her siggy. It clearly says: Proud Publix Peep" (which is a 3P).

OT #2:
I thought we have lots of folks with kids in the thread. How was everybody's Halloween trick-or-treating?

My 3-year-old went with a group of 9 kids in her school. We had so much fun. Her bucket was filled with treats. We came home at 9:30pm. She dumped out all her candy and inventoried each piece by type and brand. She counted all the pieces and she had 56. She did that because she knew for a fact I was going to either eat her candy or take some of them away. By inventorying all her candy, I would have no way to do any funny business with it.

The next morning when she woke up, she counted and inventoried all her candy, again. She was happy that she got exactly 56 pieces.

She puts all her candy by her night stand in her room. We are not worried about her eating all the candy because we have bulit a "trust" system with her. She knows that we trust her that she will ask us for permission if she wants a piece of candy. She also knows that once she violates that trust, she will never ever get to keep a big bucket of Halloween candy or any candy for that matter in her possession.

I really have to give my child the credit for being able to resist the temptation. I know I can't do it. If I see it, I want it NOW! There must be a mutation in her gene because she did not get this good trait from either me or my husband. Maybe two wrongs do make a right! laugh out loud

She has the leftover bag you forgot on the counter.... showed you she had 56 pieces and has been chomping on the other bag all night. Don't worry, your dentist will send you the bill. LMAO

Just got back from visiting relatives in VA and NC. We are leaving this week for TX Frown Had fun seeing family and looking for tearpads etc while I was away. I do not think anyone coupon shops in VA full tearpads everywhere and even winetags. NC cashiers were all EEK! OMG what do I do when I bought lots of things with coupons so must not be many in that area either. I was so excited to find 2.00/1 gas x in a booklet at kroger until I remembered I am not going to be here much longer laugh out loud

I have flu books I will not be needing anymore for the first 2 who pm me! I also have a few .50/1 any seventh generation if someone wants some and all of the baby club coupons just mailed expiring 1/9/2011

HU TAMPA BAY

Another $5/$50 coupon on the front page of the Publix BOGO flyer that's in today's Redplum Mailer Yahoo! Valid through Nov. 16th.

I'm not going to be anywhere close to $50 this week, but I definitely will be next week before my parents come into town.

Public Service Announcement

Thanks to Slayers750 worship for all of his help in retiring the old thread and getting our new, clean shiny one up and running! We are now ready for that November-December peak shopping season!

For those who are new to the thread or new to SD just a few notes:

1. You may still get to the old (retired) thread or any previous Publix thread by going to post #1 and looking at the very bottom of the post. In mice type you will see the links to all of the retired Publix threads.

2. Since you think this thread is the BEST SD Grocery Thread, why not make this thread a "sticky" so we are always at the top of the page waiting for you when you come to SD!! There are two ways to do this. Either go to Wiki #1 and click on the line that says "Stick This Thread On The Top" at the top of Wiki #1 or go to the thread tool bar and click on "Thread Tools" and click on "Stick This Thread To The Top". Either way will work.

Also since we are a new thread again, remember to click the "Thumbs Up" button again to show your support of our thread.

This concludes our public service announcement! We now return to our regular programming! laugh out loud
