Ok....I cut and pasted a review from Amazon.com and am not 100 percent sure this is a true work-around for using 3D for this tv. without having to buy the Mitsu. $99.oo adapter. Please feel free to let me know if this is true. I did talk to a sales rep. today at HHGregg store. He did show me the settings within the 73" tv that switches the 3D settings to DLP link.

if you buy the Panasonic DMP-BDT100 3D/2D Blu-Ray DVD Player, the Optoma BG-ZD101 DLP Link 3D Glasses with 3 Interchangeable Nose Pieces (Red) their is no need for the Mitsubishi converter kit. the Panasonic DMP-BDT100 does 3D checkerboard format right out of the box and the Optoma BG-ZD101 DLP Link 3D Glasses do not need an emitter to work. TV works great and the 3D is excellent. FYI you can use the PS3 if you use the Mitsubishi converter kit. However it is a cheaper option to buy the Panasonic DMP-BDT100 and the Optoma BG-ZD101 DLP Link 3D Glasses.

I forgot to mention that I did order the C10 model of the 73" mitsu through Dell. Was almost going to complete the purchase online, then got cold feet and decided to call and talk to a sales rep. to confirm/promise that I will receive this in my home before superbowl sunday. I ordered it noon on Sat. 1/29 and they are promising me free shipping by Thurs. 2/3 at the latest. Price paid: 1099.oo plus $77 tax.
I was shopping today for a good looking stand for it at HHgregg. They have about 40 stands on display and I was blown away by their showroom. Lots of DLP Mitsus. are being sold there he said. We talked about the workaround for the 3D and he said any checkerboard Link 3D glasses will work with Mitsu. including all of Samsungs line of glasses. Still undecided on a stand. Center channel centered is most important obsticle in my decision. Checking out CompUSA tomorrow. (Their now owned by TigerDirect ya know. ) Best Buy had zero choices in a wide stand. Don't waste your time there.

You need the adapter for the C10 and 638 to watch 3D no matter what. If you use the DLP link glasses instead you do not need the emitter that comes with the $400 kit. You can just buy the $99 adapter and two pairs of DLP link glasses that are compatible with the TV and you are set.
