HELP! Canon Pixma $400 rebate rejected for "peeling"

$30 if someone can send me a scanned copy of there proof of certified mail for this rebate, any takers???

FYI - I, too, was a little worried about this "UPC Peeling" issue, but even though I "peeled" my UPC so as to not cut a hole in the box, my submission (mailed on 1/4/11 - Received by rebate center on 1/18/11) is now showing up as "PAYMENT APPROVED".

Hopefully, those who have been caught up in this bogus "UPC Peeling" rejection of a valid rebate claim will get theirs approved as well. Good luck!

My rebate was received on 12/13/2010. Got a mail saying that the upc label was peeled and not cut. I called them and they made me fax them the front page of manual covers of both camera and printer with serial numbers. My rebate status was updated to Payment approved and payment mailed date to 1/14/2011. I did not receive any rebate till Jan 31st in the mail so I called them to find the whereabouts of the rebate. I was then told that the rebate will come via UPS and it can take up to 30 days for me to get it. They were not willing to give me any tracking number for the rebate which I thought was ridiculous. Also I don't know of any instance where UPS takes 30 days to deliver a package (maybe if I live in Antarctica). They also mentioned that if I don't receive my rebate in 30 days, they will reissue me a new rebate. I called them back again on 2/14/2011 and now they are telling me that they cannot reissue me a rebate because they have no control over the american express card. They are telling me to wait another 2-3 weeks. They have been lying and changing their story every time I call them. I am really angry and I want to make Canon aware of the scam going on here. Also , now the mailed date on my canon rebate status has disappeared.

If you want to fight them bigtime, go to your State Attorney General's Office and file a complaint.

Called ACB customer service today because I still hadn't received the card. They told me it would come via UPS next week. I'm not holding my breath...

Card arrived today - finally!

Card arrived today here as well.

Card arrived yesterday and swapped it promptly for a check (didn't want the hassle of $2 monthly fee after 6 months). I have detailed the swap process in this thread

Tiny bit off topic, but I had sent in a rebate request to Macy's on my Tassimo & they had sent me a rejection letter like this. But when I called them the guy said it was a "mistake" and he would send my rebate check out right away. I'm thinking companies do this to see who will waste time contacting them. I'm glad most of you got this taken care of though!!

I got mine today. I had been checking the website every day to see if my rebate status had been updated and it never was. It still says "Payment Approved"
