PS3 What is the best car racing game?

Gran Turismo 5 is $44.99 at Target this week.

Anyway, here's a decent list:

Burnout Paradise
Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit
Superstars V8 Racing ($20 on PSN)
Modnation Racers
Split/Second
Blur
Need for Speed: Shift
GT5 Prologue

racing sim?
-great arcade racer cheap is burnout. -always loved midnight club (that has tons of hours to put into it).
-blur is great, compared to a juiced up mario kart by many.
-pure is a nice arcadey atv game.
-fuel is shockingly huge in square footage with a ton of hours of gameplay.
-motostorms are good just not my cup of tea.
-wheelman is horrible.

those are the racing games i have and my opinions

Gran Turismo is fantastic, that is if you want a SIM racer.

For more Arcade, try Burnout Paradise, or Need for Speed Hot Pursuit, both are excellent.

If you are a Nascar fan, there is a new game coming out in March, Nascar 2011......

Motorstorm is arcade offroad type racing, a lot of fun as well.

If you like arcade, try Burnout Paradise, or if you want something new, Need for Speed Hot Pursuit. If you aren't into arcade racing and are more into sims, then GT5 is a good idea. The Motorstorm games are pretty fun too for off-road racing. If you like casual kart racing, check out ModNation Racers. It features a full-fledged kart/character/track creator. Blur and Split/Second are alright, but they don't get much support and their online communities are not as big as newer games. Those are your best bets.

If you like kart racers, Modnation Racers is definitely my favorite. The online community is pretty active. There are some really great user created tracks you can download and race on too, after you get tired of racing the UFG created tracks. You can also customize your kart/mod to almost anything/anyone, which is kinda cool. You can also design your own tracks and race them.

Superstar V8 looks like a cool racing game as does Crazi Taxi. Both available from the PS3 Network, you can download them. Crazi Taxi was originally an arcade game (and a good one at that) released by Sega. It's as mindless as Time Crisis, but it's still loads of fun. Superstar V8 looks sort of like Gran Turismo with a bit of edge and excitement to it.

Yeah for Arcade gonna hve to say Burnout Paradise. For realism, GT5, tehre is no close second. If you like offroad, I still enjoy Motorstorm.
