I got the same thing, and warning - check your account under "My Deals" - it does, at least mine shows pending purchases, so it did go through even though got the error above looks like it didn't

Amazon will ultimately be the one issuing the gift cards. All it takes is for them to add a special indicator number in the gift card redemption code to indicate it was bought with the livingsocial deal.
