Thread Details

I've been finding a lot of beer rebates and beer-company sponsored MIRs (mail in rebates) and coupon tearpads in my local grocery stores (and some in drugstores), so I figured we could have a thread to give everybody the heads up about these various promotions.

I've been doing a bunch of these beer rebates lately, and I just deposited $20 worth of checks into my bank account last week from these rebates.

Please indicate which state you found the rebate, coupon, winetag, etc in, if alcohol purchase is required, which state(s) the promotion is valid in, which store it was found in, expiration date, and any other important information. If you have extras to trade or RAOK, please mention that in your post and PM each other to keep from cluttering up the thread.

Each alcohol-related promotion requires that the bearer be 21 years of age or older.

ETA- Thanks SheySaves for the suggestion to trade all MIR forms here. Please discuss trades via PM and not in the thread to keep it uncluttered. Please edit your post once you run out of the forms/coupons you have to trade. Thank you. Smilie

This is a general question...but do the pizza rebates include like Pizza Hut or that kind of prepared pizza do you think? Or do they mean from the grocery store, either frozen or prepared (like from the deli)?

I called once on a Bud rebate for Chicken. They said it needed to be a grocery store receipt.

I sent out lots of receipts from subway, chick-fill-A ect, got my rebates with no problems. might be a reference.
I use my best judgement on each individual rebate. If it says 'fresh or frozen' I get it at the grocery store. If it just says 'any pizza' or 'any chicken' I'll send in a Little Ceasar's or BoJangles receipt in a heartbeat. Even with seafood rebates, if it specifies 'fresh or frozen' I pay special attention to that requirement, but if it's just 'any seafood' I'll send in receipts with canned and pouch tuna and never have a problem.

Just adding my .02 to the above. Smilie When it says "prepared food from the deli," I take that to mean it has to come from the grocery store deli dept. But when it just says "prepared food" and it's a Bud rebate, I've used receipts from fast food restaurants and cafes, and still received the rebate check.

But when it says "prepared food" and it's a Heineken or Guinness rebate, then I'm not sure how much flexibility there is for non-grocery-store receipts and I'd be interested in hearing what other people know about that. For example, there's a rebate offer right now from either Heineken or Guinness (I forget which) for $10 MIR on $10 purchase of "Ice, Fresh and Hot Prepared Food" and I'm wondering what other people are using as their qualifying items there, especially since it doesn't just say Fresh OR Hot, but Fresh AND Hot. Dontknow

For the "salty snacks" and "meat snacks" requirement on Bud rebates, I've used receipts from fast food restaurants and cafes, and also had those rebates processed without issue.

I am using hot deli sandwiches from the convenience store for the "hot and fresh" ones. I tend to only use grocery store ones otherwise such as the asian food bar at wegman's or shoprite.

As far as meat snacks, I use the same convenience store receipts but will use hot or cold sandwiches and thanks to Rite Aid, lots of Oberto jerky receipts.

I have never used regular fast food receipts but I did use a cici's receipt for take out pizza for prepared pizza. I was told when I called in one that it had to show the location name and pizza and then it was fine. Bud tends to be very liberal, diageo/heineken less so.

Diageo services the rebates. They are not a liquor company. I did 3 of the $45 and 3 of the $50 rebates.

They do it for a good 95% of liquor rebates and numerous other companies..

Here is a C&P of part of my info on the rebate.

Promotion ID DIAGEO1111

I didn't even notice the AND part here, and I was interpreting the "fresh" to mean anything not in what grocers refer to as "center store" which is everything in the aisles (grocery, frozen, etc.). Grocers refer to the outside (produce, meat, dairy, bakery) as "fresh." I also noticed that the receipt required all items to be purchased on the same date, and you have to include UPCs. I really hate Heineken rebates, they're just unreasonable in some of their requirements.

So, I'm also interested in what people are considering sending in for this one? There's only a a web address on the form; does anyone know if there is a phone number to call?

Last question -- do you think fishsticks count as "frozen fish"? Thanks...

ETA: On the website I got this number: 877.322.8355 I called and asked, and was told that they have been instructed to accept anything that is "prepared on site." Deli sandwiches or salads qualify. Fast food, like a Big Mac? "Yes." What about produce? "Only if it's ready to eat, like a prepared fruit cup." How about bananas? "Yes, I think that would have to qualify, but not potatoes because they're not already prepared." This, despite the fact that the rebate form makes no mention of 'prepared.'

ETA again: Just to confuse matters, I called again. I wanted to ask about milk, since that seems like it should qualify under the prior definition. I decided to just ask the whole question over again. "Since grodery stores consider everything around the outside -- produce, meat, deli -- as 'fresh,' would taht be accepted for this rebate?" "Yes, that sounds right." "So if I sent in a rebate with over $10 of produce that would work?." "Yes." "What about milk, since that's frehs, has a short expiration date?" "Yes, that would qualify." Her name was Cathy, and if it's denied I now have a source who confirmed these items as valid.

Does anyone think it's a good idea to put contact info (phone #, website) in the wiki?

Just wanted to let you know that the upc requirements are only for beer purchase req states. I've seen on other sites where several people have called in and been told that and I've since sent in several rebates without upcs and had no problem getting my refunds (well except for the 20% of the time when they ignore that I'm in a nbpr state, send me a denial and I have to call in to straighten it out - lol).

Thanks for that info, the Heineken rebate form sure makes it sound like you need the UPC for wahtver items you're including. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

I sent in a Bud rebate that required "over $14" in various items including bottled water & salty snacks among others. I had a receipt for exactly $14 in water so I threw in a receipt that had a $0.50 peanut chew candy bar on it. Got my rebate no problem! Big Grin

On the other hand, I'm gonna have to call for my Coors $10 wyb $50 gift cards. I mailed it 1/10 and have not received it. I submitted with one $50 gc, so I can't imagine what the problem is?

ETA: Just spoke with Coors rebate. Even though I am in NJ and it was mailed to NJ, they did not "receive it" according to their system until 1/28, so my 6-8 weeks are not quite up. Nice lady said it is in process & should go out next week. Apparently took 18 days to go approx 20 miles! laugh out loud
