Seems like a good deal on a 2TB 7200 RPM drive with 64MB Cache & 6.0Gb/s SATA. Those specs probably aren't necessary for a home/media server, but it would make a nice desktop drive.

Of course, Why not? I have a bunch of those cases lying around ever since I ripped them open to build my raid array. Now when I got a new 2TB drive for backup I just stuck it in and it worked just great.

probably faster than the hard drives from 2 years or so ago, but a 5400rpm hard drive will be slower than most modern 7200rpm hard drives.

that said, i think the WD 2tb EARS i just purchased is years ahead of my "drivezilla" years ago:

actually, it's the opposite. 3 667gb 5400RPM platters > 2 500gb 7200RPM platters
