991 is a step up from 2311ci, which adds Audyssey MultEQ XT, Audyssey DST, network functionality.
991 pretty much == 3311ci, with only one hdmi out, no CI features (remote controls, 3 zones instead of 2, HD radio support). overall if you think between 2311 and 991 I'd definitely take 991. another story that I just ordered 3311 for 808, and I am thinking whether I should cancel that and get 991 instead... I prefer look of 3311, but don't really need any of CI features. |

trying to cash in on the fact that Denon has an authorized dealer called DAKMART seems shady. i would not buy from daxmart The REAL DAKMART has it for $690 + shipping http://www.dakmart.com/p12174/DEN..._info.html buy from the authorized dealer if you choose to go this route. |

Yeah that seems like a great price, OP. At a $60 difference it was a no brainer to go for the 3311. Now it's a real delima as to which one. For me personally it's a real debate for the 991 or the Onkyo nr3008. IDK. I think if the 991 had preouts I'd be all over this.
sound and vision review of the 991 http://www.soundandvisionmag.com/...v-receiver (excerpt - "Power was good, just bettering the unit's 125-watt spec in stereo mode, still maintaining good output into 4 ohms, and very nearly reaching the century mark (97 watts) with 5 channels driven simultaneously. When driving more than 5 channels, the Denon shut down protectively after more than a few seconds, but I managed to see around 80 watts repeatedly.") avs 3311 / 991 thread (2nd post shows the differences between the two; a lot in my opinion) http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/sh...?t=1257209 Last edited by mphfrom77; 02-02-2011 at 07:01 PM.. |
