What happened to Resistance 3's graphics?

In December 2010, this trailer was released for Resistance 3. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ErV_Hi72po It was a mix of live action and, from 1:12 to 1:52, presumably the actual game. The lighting and fog effects were so good, it looked almost realistic.

Now, in January 2011, there's this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TvztnYaRkaw What the heck happened there?

Common sense should tell you that if the first trailer didn't have any sort of HUD that it probably wasn't what the game would the final game would look like. With that said, I think the actual gameplay and visuals still look excellent and are much improved from the previous games. They don't seem drastically different from that first trailer either, so I don't see the big deal here.

Along with lighting I would also say the color palette in the second one isn't as nice on the eyes, just shades of browns, the first one had grays and some detail color splashed around the environment.

OP, your not the guy who started the thread where his entire base of argument was the madden teaser trailer that came out before this gen and is pissed about how that trailer wasn't real gameplay, are you???

They're both videos on Youtube. The game hasn't come out yet.

BTW, I never said the graphics are crap, so I don't know why some of you are freaking out. They just don't look the same between videos, with one, IMO, looking better than the other. The first video looks almost like it could have come out of the movie District 9 and you get to blow up the aliens into really yummy looking splatters.
