These work on macbooks? My macbook currently has 2GB ddr3 1066mhz ram.
Edit: After reading reviews, seems to work with some macbook pros. Some say that both sticks won't work at the same time. I don't know if I want to take the plunge and hope they work or not =|
It should. I just bought this for my Macbook Pro (mid-09 model) and I have not had any problems so far. I also added an Intel SSD and the combo of those 2 made the world of a difference for my Mac! Im done upgrading this thing
Edit, a lot of reviewers say it does not work with the current Mac Mini. Worst case is you buy it, it works- great. If not, craiglist the RAM and make a little money off of it. I sold my 4gb of ram that I upgraded [this time last year] for 60, which paid for the 8gb. Last year when I bought 4gb for $60, I sold my 2gb that originally came with the MBP for $40, so try it out.
But I agree with others who have commented that spending
$65 to upgrade from 3 or 4GB to 8GB is a waste of money.
My little Acer's performance increased between 1 and 2 percent
as measured by various utilities.
But never for a moment have I noticed any speed increase.
It really depends on what you're running with RAM. If you run multiple VMs, you should definitely see less performance drop. Anything memory intensive should just be better in general. I have 2GB on both my macbook and my desktop computer, and I know the desktop uses 90% almost at all times. The macbook has recently been using much more memory because I've started developing for android, and the virtual device really bogs it down.
