How to add TV noise/snow to Windows Movie Maker

I'm trying to add TV noise as a clip before and after some video clips in WMM.

I'm also trying to have one of the scenes go immediately to a black screen for two or three seconds. Does anybody know how I can achieve this?

Recording some static and inserting it as a clip would be how I'd probably go about it. Blank DV cassettes will produce static when played, so you could try hooking up a DV camera and then tell WMM to import it. If all else fails, you could just download an .AVI or .MPG of some static that someone else has recorded [archive.org]. Wink

Same idea goes for the black screen if the "direct to black" option isn't available in WMM.
