I asked a friend if she wanted to order some as well, but she said that this price isn't much better than Publix's routine prices. Huh? Am I missing something, or is she confusing lower-quality (and cheaper) ground chuck with lean ground beef?

I honestly can't remember the last time I bought any meats at Publix, but I remember Publix always being way up there in price for lean ground beef. I think $3.29 is fantastic for lean- I wouldn't think twice about paying that.

Thanks! That's kinda what I thought. I rarely splurge on the "good stuff" because 5 bucks a pound just seems crazy expensive. I buy el cheapo too, and have kind of an elaborate fat-removal system. In fact, the only time I buy lean or sirloin is if I know my man will be doing the cooking, as I know he will not take the time to do the whole drainage process.

Looking forward to not having to worry about all that fat.

I was hoping that deal popped up again. I stalked the Festival Foods site [festivalfoods.net] this year where that awesome q came from combined with Publix sales. This year they have a MQ and it is sooooo blurry I don't think I would try to use it. This year it's Save $5 on a turkey when you buy 10 items:

Zaycon is a high quality product. Comes straight from the farm and has no hormones or antibiotics. Not saying Publix does, but it's a higher quality product than most stores. Ground round I bought was $3.99. Not lean like you are getting. I would of done Zaycon but I will never go through that much ground beef quick enough and my freezer is full of their chicken. We eat little ground beef and a whole lotta chicken.

You q is a better quality than I posted. Last year I wrote to Publix about the coupon from Festival Foods (another Minnesota grocer) they said if the q was available as PDF to those customers and had a bar code with remit address they would accept it. I was able to use the printed version of last years coupons with no problems.

That is good to have confirmation that it's ok. Then it becomes the coupon policy (or the interpretation thereof) that's the real problem. Then again, there's nothing in the publicly posted coupon policy that says you can't use coupons on the qualifying items if you consider the $5 coupon as attaching to the turkey. I generally opt for willful ignorance unless told otherwise.

Of the listed items, only the Singles, Planters and bacon appear to be on sale - so this coupon would essentially get you just another $.50 off each. The only qualifying item I planned to get was bacon, but I don't know if I need ten!

Check your weeked paper in the USA Weekend there is a $2 off coupon for Gillette Male Disposable exp 12/31/12. It is the small magazine type paper in with the other papers. HU

Sorry, just finished my weekend paper and in the Our Town section is a Sweet Bay $5 off $35 or more so maybe in the Sunday paper?? too?

It is a YMMV but my store is strict to wording, so only this q and turkey. Not a deal to me unless I needed these items in q.

Also Kraft block cheese is on sale $3.99. Big let down this year. I think this is going to be our norm. I spent so much more this year on Tday.

Oh, regarding your sig about American Girl dolls. AG does have promo codes (I think they did for Cyber Monday last year), but then I think they ditch free shipping, so it basically always end up being the same. Are you looking for a certain doll? eBay might be your best bet.

My AG dolls are one of my few prized possessions. I've had mine over 20 years now.

THank you, I'm keeping an eye out. I told my daughter they are really expensive, so I don't know if we will be able to get one right now, we might have to save up for it. After thinking about this for a few days, she informed me "Mommy, I know the AG dolls are really expensive, so I'll ask Santa for it so you don't have to buy it"

Dollar General (who woulda thought) has a good deal on the Libby's Veggies thru Wed. They are on sale for 45¢ a can. Combine with the $1/4 to be 20¢ a can.
They also have a in store promo for Pedigree Dog food, BOGO. Don't know if they will take Qs on the free one or not, but there is a $1/1 Pedigree Dry Food For Dogs, any 3.5 lb or larger - 09-30-12 RP.
