Thread Details

The PUBLIX thread is IMHO the best grocery store thread around heart
Here's a little chat area for us all to share info, recipes, rant's, raves and whatever else we want without clogging up the regular weekly deals thread for PUBLIX. If we want to share super deals we find in other stores or whatnot that's ok too heart

I think we all are such a great family that it's a good to have our own special place Grouphug

You can post basically anything you like in here but let's keep deals info in the actual PUBLIX thread. All are welcome and basically no major rules except be kind and courteous of other's and treat each other with respect. Other than that let's all have some fun! Also you don't have to shop at PUBLIX to share in the chat or whatnot... we like everyone.

I can barely keep my eyes open today. It is not even 8am and I have had a Grande Mocha from SB and I am on Dew #2 and I have only been up 3 hours!

We went to the Falcons game last night. Remember about a month ago I told you about that Score Big Promotion? Well, we used our $13 (for three) tickets last night. It cost me $4 to park (shocking, but I know the good lots) and when we were walking to the stadium they were passing out coupons for a free breakfast sandwich from McDonalds. Then after we went through security and were "wanded" a lady asked us if we needed help to find out seats. It wasn't the gruff old "let me see your ticket" answer - Instead I felt like I was on Nickelodeon with high energy, fast paced peeps showing me on the map where we are now, where we had to go, the best way we got there. etc. At the end she asked how her service was that she provided to us today? DH said "Great" and she said well if you fill out the comment card you can get a free large soft drink. So we spent a minute filling out 3 of the 5 question survey's and we got 3 free soft drinks. Then off to our seats. We got programs - - - they were free and were passing them out. Now to our seats. We were in the endzone about 15 rows up. Excellent seats and perfect view of the jumbo tron.

In short:

$13 Tickets
$4 Park
$5 Dipping Dots
$6 Endless buckets of popcorn (free refills)

Equals a cheap fun evening out. We stayed until the end of the game and got home just before 1am. I am up every morning at 4:30am so I am dragging today. Happy hour today will be like nap hour!

Just wanted to share that the Score Big tickets were great!!!
Sounds like you had a great time and that is an awesome deal! We usually spend almost $50 on food alone when we go! We'll have to keep our eyes peeled for a promo like that again. nod

For anyone who has Winn Dixie as a competitor and needs $x/$xx q's there is a printable [coj.net]$5/$50 from the Jax hurricane preparedness flyer.

Nope, bonus amounts aren't dependent on your spending. If the ad says $.05 wyb 1, you get that $.05 even if that's all you buy.

The $50 spending is cumulative as well...you don't have to spend $50 in one trip to earn it.

Now I don't know about where you are, but here (tampa bay area) if you spend 50 or more your first $0.05 is doubled.
It only doubles your first 50, so if you have a big order, break it up into increments of $50.00 and you will get more!
Thank you so much for this information! I am thinking that when the bonus items are a deal that would be the way to go. I don't really shop at WD, ours are not very coupon friendly and the prices are better at Publix here. Of course we don't have a lot of competition. I can see adding it up could be a nice way to go, at first I was thinking it wouldn't be worth it at all.

I'm in Pensacola....don't know where to find that info?

So... who besides me is hitting multiple Publix up tomorrow for the Quaker deal? I'm gonna try and stick with no more than 2 TQs for each store.

ETA: My SIL can't use TQs at her Publix, so she also sent me a list to buy.

Sorry tn I won't be joining you. If you lived a little closer I would help you out with your list!

Funny how different sales get different people excited.

I will however be stalking the Pantene aisle.

this type of sale is the ONLY time I see Quaker Oh's on sale... for those long in the tooth like me, these taste very much like the old Quisp cereal. (and they are S W E E T!)

you know jd, the pantene deal didn't even make the D&S this week.

I'm going to grab some granola bars for the kids (as tempting as the mm grits might be - though I'm the only Yankee in my family, so I wouldn't be the ones eating them anyway!) It's easier for me to hit multiple stores during the week, since I pass so many of them on the way home from work, but I'll probably manage to get to two Publixes this weekend. One nearby started enforcing the one TQ-rule a long time ago, the other hasn't gotten strict with it yet. Not that I ever used that many like TQ's at once anyway, but being limited to one is proving to be very limiting!

I'm a little frustrated today...sigh. Too many little things just taking too much work and simple things I was sure that would be no problem, well, those went wrong too!

I am excited about the sales this weekend, just hope that somehow things wind up going smoothly with the family and kids!

I just left target, and there were $0.50 off any Quaker soft baked bars on granola bar boxes. Probably make for a great deal for those in LOD,

W/D fuelperks- there is also www.fuelrewards.com powered by Savingstar
where you also earn. Not all offers appear on fuelrewards that are on SStar,
so just be sure to check both before you select which way you want to earn.
(one or the other not both)
Whatever fuelperks you earn this month expire the last day of next month. A reminder will
print at the bottom of your receipt.

Back to Publix-
went to one today that the cashier allowed the 2 deli cpns in the same order. I had spaced my orders apart and she said is was ok for both. Hope she doesn't get in trouble, young girl. DD was with me, so the person part was covered.

Another great night of football - - - Oh how I love fall!!! heart

I asked my CS Manager if she could try and special order me some Brach's Royals. I told her that the Publix Brach's collection was awful! She said she would check into it and let me know. Do you remember royals. The blue ones are my favorite. . .

Do you remember Pick-A-Mix. I LOVED that as a kid!

Oooh, I liked the blue ones too!

I should have asked them to order something for me. My store(s) only had some maple thing, some peanut butter thing and lemon drops. I bought the lemon drops and peanut butter, but all the peanut butter ones were expired Frown

I will be trying to get some of the individual servings of oatmeal in the box (8ct I think). I love these because DS1 can make them himself and DH keeps in his drawer at work. I have a crazy day. Football Jamboree from 10-3 and I am working parents night out at the preschool I work at from 4-9:15. Will get out at 9:15 and hope there is some oatmeal left. May have to settle for a raincheckFrown

I may wind up with some rainchecks as well...sigh. Everything going on with the family and the lawnmower perpetually breaking is causing some drama this morning! The early birds (around here seems to be some retirees I run into eventually LOL) are going to get the best deals. Embarrassment I'll be happy if I can get a raincheck. I have a raincheck to use today, which has it's own drama I'll mention later if I have the time. This weekend, before school starts, already has it's own craziness built in! LMAO
