Thread Details

The PUBLIX thread is IMHO the best grocery store thread around heart
Here's a little chat area for us all to share info, recipes, rant's, raves and whatever else we want without clogging up the regular weekly deals thread for PUBLIX. If we want to share super deals we find in other stores or whatnot that's ok too heart

I think we all are such a great family that it's a good to have our own special place Grouphug

You can post basically anything you like in here but let's keep deals info in the actual PUBLIX thread. All are welcome and basically no major rules except be kind and courteous of other's and treat each other with respect. Other than that let's all have some fun! Also you don't have to shop at PUBLIX to share in the chat or whatnot... we like everyone.

Ok, cooks - a question. I got some of the Knorr homestyle stock, cuz it was free. I have a recipe now that calls for dissolved chicken bouillon cubes. What's the difference between bouillon, stock, and broth for that matter - are any or all of them interchangeable? Wondering if I can use the Knorr stock or if I have to go get bouillon cubes.

At least she was thinking about you!

What about the Our Generation doll they sell at Target? They're 18" dolls and come with books, just like AG. Except they're only $30ish.

My daughters never wanted the 'american girl' doll thing...thankfully, I've heard really nice things about those Target dolls, especially the accessories. But personally the cutest 18 inch dolls were those madame alexander ones I used to see at Walmart (may have been 2 years ago, don't know if they still carry them), Their faces were so sweet looking, somehow most of the american girl dolls have kind of a harsh look to them in my opinion.

My SIL spent $300-400 or so on a doll and accessories from the AG company because her oldest 'had to have one' like some of the other girls she knew. However, after a week or so it was on a shelf, then later packed away in a storage box. It might be 'worth it' to get one of the cheaper ones first to see if your DD really is into playing with it.

I have 2 of the original historical dolls that my grandma bought me. If it weren't for my grandma, I never would have gotten them. She did, however, put her foot down on buying me all the outfits, but gladly indulged in buying me the books. We actually found a woman at our church growing up that was a seamstress and she made all the outfits nearly identical and only charged, like, $10 to do it. I never did get the awesome furniture until I was an adult.

I went to the big AG store in Atlanta and it was shocking how much money these parents spent. Nono I remember standing in line buying some dinky $20 outfit and the woman in front of me was with her daughter and had just spent nearly $3000. Are you kidding me?!

Anyways. I may or may not have spent the day digging through the garage for the box with my AG stuff in it. Molly and Kirsten have their holiday outfits on Embarrassment I've told you I'm a kid in an adults body, yes?

I always use them interchangeably, but I have no idea if that's how you're supposed to do it. But most of my recipes don't call for me to be exact (or even correct).

The way I see it
every life is a pile of good things and bad things.
The good things don’t always soften the bad things
but vice versa
the bad things don’t necessarily spoil the good things
and make them unimportant

Thanks, I'll give it a try! And our girls have the Target versions of AG and like them just fine. I'd like to take them to the AG store just for fun someday, but I don't think I (and my wallet) will make it out of there alive.

Have any of you tried the hot wings from the Publix deli? I saw they had them on sale (something like 50 for $18). Hot wings are always our tradition after we're tired of turkey leftovers, so I was wondering if they were worth the money.

We think they are yummy It's our favorite happy hour at the beach food. They are really meaty and not too spicy so your mouth is in pain. Now I want some! My SIL sometimes calls ahead while on her way over and they have a fresh batch for her.

THank you, I'm keeping an eye out. I told my daughter they are really expensive, so I don't know if we will be able to get one right now, we might have to save up for it. After thinking about this for a few days, she informed me "Mommy, I know the AG dolls are really expensive, so I'll ask Santa for it so you don't have to buy it"

Facepalm
Coverlaugh that is so ADORABLE!!! Wink

hug If you follow only one rule, let it be this one. Be yourself. The really strong relationships are based on what people really are, not on what they pretend to be. heart

Oh, good. The UPS guy is on my sh*t list lately. He refuses to leave packages, even if I don't have to sign for them. There is absolutely zero chance of someone even stealing things. Ugh.
